BOOM
Don’t stop retrieving. Hold on to that feline. Welcome to #WetNoseWednesday.
The pup-arazzo responsible for creating this glass negative photograph of a unidentified trio is photographer T. (Thomas) Clarence Marshall (1885-1969), who captured the image roughly between 1900 and 1930 on the steps of Auburn Heights, his family home.
T. Clarence Marshall’s father, Israel W. Marshall, founded the Marshall Brothers Paper Mill in Yorklyn, Delaware in 1890. The wealth generated by this family business allowed the younger Marshall to become a man of many hobbies, including photography. In addition to other subjects, the Hagley’s collection of his photographs contains images like this one, documenting the Marshall family and friends. Other subjects include the Marshall Brothers Paper Mill, Marshall’s collection of Stanley Steamer automobiles, and various locations and events in and around Delaware and Chester County, Pennsylvania.
