The motion to repeal Net Neutrality has been passed in a 3-2 vote

Before everyone loses their shit, I will like to urge everyone to take a deep breath and focus on the following:

1: This cannot go into immediate effect.

2: There is still many issues that WILL be addressed by the Congress, Supreme Court, and many other government officials have a current say in the false comments, stolen idenities, denial of public hearings, and many other issues that the FCC did not address.

3: CALL. YOUR. OFFICALS. Do NOT give up, just because the vote has passed, don’t you DARE stop. Make this shit go front-page, make some NOISE.

DO. NOT. STOP.

JUDGEMENT DAY

But in the mean time Tumblr, BREAK THE INTERNET. Reblog these pics, post your own thoughts/blogs, spread the word, Join the Fight!

Don’t lie down and wait for results, make the results happen, we’re the people, we’re stronger than we know. Now let’s show it

the phrase “curiosity killed the cat” is actually not the full phrase it actually is “curiosity killed the cat but satisfaction brought it back” so don’t let anyone tell you not to be a curious little baby okay go and be interested in the world uwu

See also:

Blood is thicker than water The blood of the covenant is thicker than the water of the womb.

Meaning that relationships formed by choice are stronger than those formed by birth.

Let’s not forget that “Jack of all trades, master of none” ends with “But better than a master of one.”

It means that being equally good/average at everything is much better than being perfect at one thing and sucking at everything else. So don’t worry if you’re not perfect at something you do! Being okay is better!

These made me feel better

Also, “great minds think alike” ends with “but fools rarely differ”

It goes to show that conformity isn’t always a good thing. And that just because more than one person has the same idea, doesn’t necessarily mean it’s a good idea.

what the fuck why haven’t i heard the full version to any of these

“Birds of a feather flock together” ends with “until the cat comes.”

It’s actually a warning about fair-weather friends, not an assessment of how complementary people are.

I’ve always felt like these were cut down on purpose.

I really like these phrases and plan on spreading this knowledge.

The early bird catches the worm, but the second mouse gets the cheese.

I want to make designs out of these.

Funny how all the half-finished ones encourage uniformity and upholding the status-quo, while the complete proverbs encourage like…living exciting, eclectic lives driven by choice and personal passion.

The legendary thread is back

Some Ammunition for the Net Neutrality Opposition

I came across a very interesting article regarding Net Neutrality….one that serves as good ammunition.

Over 1 million names were filed in favor of the repealing of the Net Neutrality rules.

Here’s the kicker.

According to an article on The Wired…THEY’RE ALL FRADULENT.

I don’t know about you, but last I looked, using real names to do phony things is identity theft.

Want proof? Here you go.

I’m calling on everyone to do the following:

1) Boost This.

2) Use Resistbot to write to your governors and Congress, calling for them to freeze the vote until this is investigated.

3) Also…tell them that if it’s true, the guilty parties need to be arrested and the net neutrality repeal proposal scrapped.

Imagine paying $40 extra a month for Tumblr

That’s what is going to happen if we let Ajit Pai, the FCC chairman, go through with repealing Title II (AKA Net Neutrality).

Simply put, without Net Neutrality, Internet Service Providers like Comcast, Verizon, and AT&T will be able to “bundle” websites much like cable ON TOP OF paying for internet connection. “Want access to Netflix AND Tumblr? Get the Entertainment Package! $40 a month. What about Amazon and Ebay? Add an extra $20 a month to get the Shopping Package.”

Not only will they be able to bundle websites and charge more, they will also be able to censor and block websites that they don’t agree with entirely.

THIS WILL BE THE END OF INTERNET AS WE KNOW IT.

For business owners, it will be even worse. Ex: Comcast will ask Amazon to pay high fees to be available in a low-cost package, fees that websites like Poshmark or Etsy will not be able to pay. Therefore, only Fortune 500’s will be available to web users at a low cost. Say goodbye to Etsy (unless you’re willing to shell out $70 a month for the “All-Inclusive” package).

There are five people deciding the future of the internet, three men (Rep) and two women (Dem). The two women have come out as No votes. We need only to convince ONE of the other members to flip to a NO vote to save Net Neutrality.

NET NEUTRALITY - WHY YOU SHOULD CARE

A lot of people have been saying - Why should we care? This can’t be real, I don’t do politics, or “I’m not in the US” or “tumblr only has kids”,

Please PLEASE be informed, NET NEUTRALITY IS IMPORTANT, look at the other hundreds of posts on tumblr that will explain it 100 times better than me, but the TLDR of net neutrality gone IS -

- THE INTERNET would be split into packages. E.g. Messaging, streaming etc.

- THAT MEANS prices could be inflated, and this makes NO ROOM for innovation. You know youtube that started from nothing? or facebook? NEW INNOVATE IDEAS wouldn’t be able to bloom as COOPERATES would essentially MONOPOLIZE what you can and cannot use

- Different companies could advertise FAST LANES exclusive to THEM, like company A could say “WE HAVE FASTER FACEBOOK” while company B could be like “WE HAVE BETTER STREAMING”, ALL SHOULD BE EQUAL YOU SHOULDN’T HAVE TO CHOOSE BETWEEN PACKAGES

- This also means that sites like AO3 that are crowdfunded WOULD BE SHUT DOWN. This means many cannot access tumblr because THEY DON’T HAVE THE MONEY.

- They also have the freedom to MEDIATE the internet. Essentially, show YOU news THEY WANT YOU to see, and BLOCK everything else. Sound familiar?

- THERE IS NO BENEFIT, TO US, THE CONSUMER, ITS JUST TO FEED GREEDY COOPERATES MORE MONEY AND INCREASING THE GAP BETWEEN COOPERATES AND US, AND THEY CAN LIMIT OUR FREEDOM OF SPEECH

YOU SHOULD CARE. They want to send us DECADES back, they want to have CONTROL AGAIN like they did with CABLE. DON’T GIVE IT TO THEM. DON’T GIVE OUR FREEDOM OVER.

I’m from the UK, but I’m doing my best doing MULTIPLE POSTS FOR AWARENESS BECAUSE I CARE. BECAUSE IT COULD END UP AFFECTING ALL OF US.

IF YOU’RE NOT IN THE US, SPREAD AWARENESS AND NEWS. IF YOU’RE IN THE US BUT A CHILD, TELL YOUR PARENTS TO CALL UP OR SEND A TEXT. MAKE EVERYONE AWARE. FIGHT FOR OUR RIGHT OF SPEECH, FREEDOM, INFORMATION AND MOST IMPORTANTLY,

PROTECT OUR FANDOMS!

IF YOU ARE READING THIS, CHANCES ARE YOU GO ON THE INTERNET EVERYDAY. THE FCC IS NOW PLANNING ON REPEALING NET NEUTRALITY. THIS MEANS THAT POPULAR WEBSITES WILL RUN SLOWLY UNTIL YOU PAY AN EXTRA FEE. WE WOULD NO LONGER HAVE THE PRIVILEGE OF USING WEBSITES AND RESEARCHING FOR FREE.

TEXT ‘RESIST’ AT 50409 AND TELL YOUR SENATORS THAT NET NEUTRALITY NEEDS TO STAY.
