hi, guys, my baby cousin ryan is almost eight years old, and he’d officially beat leukemia until ten days ago when we found out that he relapsed. finding a bone marrow donor is extremely hard, since he’s of mixed ethnicity (vietnamese/caucasian) and there aren’t a lot of people in the donor registry. if you’re 18+ and live in the United States, it would mean the world to me if you could register. you’ll receive a swab kit in the mail, and if you’re a match for anyone, you could save their life.

i know i don’t have a huge following on here and a lot of people don’t like these kinds of posts, but i have to try for my cousin.

For Canadians, the same thing exists at blood.ca, is free and super easy, and can save people’s actual lives

So I did some research, and donating bone marrow sounds like it’s on the level of about wisdom teeth removal? Like, you’re sore and achy for a few days, but that’s about it. And as a result, you can save someone’s life. And its not like you’ll be asked to do it every few weeks like with blood donation, it took be years or never between donations. So, it kinda seems like the right thing to do? I’d gladly be sore and achy for a few days to prevent someone’s death. I’m gonna sign up for it today

yes!!! a lot of people immediately think that donating bone marrow is too much of a hassle, but you’ll be in discomfort for about five days. your body will be able to replenish everything that you lost and you’ll be able to make an easy recovery! i understand the risks, i really do, but it doesn’t take a lot from you, and we still get so many people saying they don’t have the time, that they’d rather not, or they’re afraid. they say “no thanks, i’m good” and that’s great, but my cousin isn’t. my cousin is more afraid than you are, my cousin has less time than you do. there are people all over the world who need a match or they’ll die. i know that it’s hard to understand why this is so important when it’s not happening to you, but please try to think of the lives that could be saved if more people registered.

Please help me pay my cat’s surgery

My 8 years-old cat Mikoto just had a kidney surgery that saved her life.

One of her kidney had two stones which were preventing her from draining urine correctly. The doctor said her kidneys were full of pus.

Post-surgery, she’s doing ok but we don’t know how ok she will be. But I have high hopes.

Now I have to pay her medical bills. It’s very expensive: almost 4000$.

So far, I spent 1000$ and I don’t have any more left to pay the bills.

I could save up some but it will take a lot of time which I don’t have.

I have to pay the clinic in the upcoming days and they don’t facilite payment. (They do but there’s a 4% interest).

It’s really URGENT. 

That’s why I created a gofundme page (link).  

I know I’m asking a lot and I don’t really like doing it but it’s my last solution. 

She’s truly the best cat anyone could wish for. 

She’s a lovely cat who likes to play and hang out near you. She’s really cute and my family and I love her so very much. 

When I first heard she was dying I was devastated I didn’t know what to do.

But she’s a true fighter. While her kidneys were slowly failing she was in tremendous pain but she kept going. She’s very brave.

That’s why I can’t give up on her and why I need your help.

Update : 

Both her kidneys have stones now. 

The doctor said that her kidneys tend to produce stones which will eventually get stuck in her ureters. 

So she needs to have a new surgery soon. They will put plastic tubes that will act as her ureters and help her evacuate urine and stones. 

It’s a risky and expensive surgery but it’s my last hope to save my Mikoto.

The amount needed for this surgery will be the double of what it’s currently needed. 

So every penny and reblog count. 

I really need your help to save her. I know it may be ridiculous to pay this much for a cat but she’s truly like a member of my family.

She’s been there for me when I was going through hard times. She’s been one of the reason I could make it when times were difficult and one of the reason I’m still here today.

She’s a cat who wants to live and even though she’s not the toughest cat she doesn’t give up. 

I can’t let her go without trying everything to save her. 

Please help me do that. Let’s save her.

Some good news : Mikoto’s blood test is much better which means her kidneys are responding :)

As for the kidney stones, they’re still there and they are becoming obstructive :(

The surgery will be programmed sometimes this week I think, unless there’s a miracle and the stones pass by themselves (which is very rare). 

I received the bill for all the care she received so far.

It amounts to approximately to 5880$. They want me to pay immediately which is not possible for me.

So please it’s very important that you keep reblogging if you can. Even the smallest amount help me.
