why are all the top pages about star halos about removing them from images because they're ugly. i fucking hate you. you're looking at the cool star haloes and thinking they need to be removed???

There's an expression in Kashmiri — bahār hævnai — which literally means “may you witness spring” but there's a layer of meaning in the second word of the expression, which imbues it with a sense of “may God have you witness spring.”

It's said as a blessing, or as a way to encourage someone when they're feeling low. To convey the idea that the ups and downs of life are merely seasons, that even if one is passing through the heartless winter days of life, God will at some point bring about spring for you.

May you witness spring. Bahār hævnai.

eyup. Iowa folks too. Remember that derecho last year? Predictions are that damage might be similarly bad in some areas, with potentially widespread power outages.

There were tornado warnings in Lincoln, NE, and I’ve heard of debris breaking car windows in Colorado when this storm hit them, so I think I’m out to move my car in close and then hunker down for the night. Stay safe out there y’all!
