I had a few doodles of izumi lying around so piled them all together

Yes izumi is a sweet, shy, soft spoken kid, yes she knows how to use 27 different weapons

Some additional ramblings — her weapons are inspired by wind and fire wheels (they’re not throw weapons but let’s pretend that sokka customized them to fly just like boomerang so that he & zuko could gift their daughter the coolest weapons imaginable.) Izumi is the first firelord to go ice dodging as a coming of age ritual and got the mark of the wise (sokka is So Smug.) And I love love love the hc of Senna as zukka’s second daughter because it means that zuko is related to Yet Another Avatar like,, the comedic potential,,, he’d freak out so bad

[ID: several drawings of Izumi and her family from Avatar: the Last Airbender and the Legend of Korra.

The first page shows Izumi as a young girl, holding a pair of metal weapons shaped like large rings and looking at them with glee. Her fathers stand behind her to either side, both mid-gesture as they excitedly explain the weapons. Zuko says "These are wielded as a pair, just like my swords." Sokka interjects, "Or Aunt Suki's fans!" Zuko continues, "Pretty short reach"; Sokka says "But you can throw them just like Boomerang Jr."; and Zuko finishes, "Or use them to channel your fire!"

The second page has a full-body drawing of Izumi as a young adult, standing with one hand on her hip and smiling. Another drawing shows adult Izumi from the torso up, mid-turn with her long hair flowing as she wields the same weapon shown above, now alit with her orange and blue flames. Below that is a drawing of Izumi and Bumi, both young teenagers. Bumi peers down at the knife he's holding and says "It just says 'Made in the Earth Kingdom'." Izumi, looking unimpressed, says "The other side, Bumi."

The third page shows Izumi as an older teenager surrounded by her fathers and little sister in the South Pole. The Mark of the Wise is painted on her forehead. Sokka hugs his daughter tightly from behind, beaming with tears in his eyes as he says "Our duckling's all grown up!" Izumi grins and flushes, hands on her father's arm, and says "Stop, stop, stop! That's embarrassing!" Senna, standing next to her sister, crosses her arms and looks up at Zuko, saying "Dad, I wanna go dodging too!" Zuko rests a hand on her shoulder and tells her "In a few years, Senna." End ID]

Empress Theodora

Theodora (497-548) was the daughter of a bear-keeper. An actress and a prostitute, nothing predestinated her to become empress. Theodora left the Hippodrome, went to North Africa as the mistress of a civil servant, parted from him and returned home.

Then, she met the future emperor Justinian and married him. When her husband was crowned in 527, he insisted that Theodora should be made his equal and his co-ruler. Thus, Theodora embarked on the path of reform.

Theodora worked to improve women’s rights. She made rape punishable by death, improved women’s financial security and suppressed the authority that the brothel owners keepers kept over prostitutes. She also tried to improve the prospects of prostitutes who wanted to start a new life.

She showed great courage during the Nika riots in 532. Theodora persuaded the emperor not to flee, but to fight. She reportedly said:

I do not care whether or not it is proper for a woman to give brave counsel to frightened men; but in moments of extreme danger, conscience is the only guide. Every man who is born into the light of day must sooner or later die; and how can an Emperor ever allow himself to become a fugitive? If you, my Lord, wish to save your skin, you will have no difficulty in doing so. We are rich, there is the sea, there too are our ships. But consider first whether, when you reach safety, you will not regret that you did not choose death in preference. As for me, I stand by the ancient saying: royalty makes the best shroud.”

Theodora was also involved in a number of political intrigues and mercilessly disposed of her political opponents. She died in 548, probably of cancer.

Thank you so much!
