You and Draco had three rules.
Three rules that you had to follow if you wanted to keep your secret safe. If anyone were to find out that you, one of Gryffindor’s brightest, and Draco, the Prince of Slytherin, were secretly meeting up, things certainly wouldn’t end well for the two of you. Not to mention Draco being a Malfoy. His family had very high expectations of him - none of which required him messing about with a Gryffindor.

“Alright! Yes, fine I admit it. I do fancy them!” Katie Bell cried, a drunken, giddy smile lighting up her face as she took a sip of her firewhisky, a blush creeping up on her cheeks. The whole common room erupted into laughter; your own head thrown back at Katie’s words.
“I knew it!” You heard Angelica shout beside Katie, lightly nudging her with her shoulder. You couldn’t help the grin that was stretching across your lips as you watched your friends descend into even more laughter, the whole common room practically vibrating with joy.
It had been a hard year for you all as Hogwarts gradually began to turn into something none of you recognised, something darker, something menacing. This wasn’t helped with the news coming from the world outside, the disappearances, the sightings of death eaters and a creeping feeling of inevitability, that the war was coming, and it was coming fast.
Hermione had been the one to suggest that you all stay at the castle for Christmas, justifying that Umbridge wouldn’t be there and you could therefore create some happy memories in the castle you once loved, especially as half of you were graduating in the summer. Which is how you found yourself in the common room late on Christmas Eve, surrounded by your close friends, sipping firewhisky. Today had been nothing short of perfect, full of laughter and joy as you had decorated the Great Hall and common room and then snuck butterbeer and mince pies from the kitchen to have your own little party. As the sun had set and night began to draw in, Dean Thomas had suggested playing traditional muggle games like his family did on Christmas Eve back home. You weren’t sure Truth or Dare constituted a game you’d play on Christmas Eve but as your friends continued to laugh at the fact Katie Bell had just been forced to admit she fancied the Ravenclaw keeper, you weren’t complaining.
A grin continued to dance on your lips as you took a slow sip of your own drink, wincing slightly at the burn as it slipped down your throat and you leaned back against the legs of one of the armchairs. A content sigh left your lips as Alicia began to play with the loose strands of your hair, a habit she had picked up during your first year.
“Your turn Fred!” George exclaimed from the other side of the room, a drunk grin on his lips as he pointed at his twin. Immediately your eyes darted to where Fred sat, casually lounging on the sofa opposite you, hands resting comfortably behind his head and causing the fabric of his t-shirt to ride up slightly so you could see a sneak-peek of his toned body.
Your mouth practically watered at how handsome he looked in the warm glow of the fire, a blush creeping up on your neck when he turned his head slightly to catch you looking at him, shooting you a wink in return.
“I dare you to kiss the prettiest girl in the room!” George announced, which caused a fresh wave of cheers to drunkenly erupt from your friends. A lazy grin grew on Fred’s lips at George’s words, eyes flicking slightly over to you before returning to his twin.
“Easy.” He arrogantly claimed as he pushed himself up from the sofa. You dipped your head slightly, pushing a strand of hair behind your ear to hide the blush creeping, furiously, up your neck as all eyes turned to you. Alicia nudged your side, gently, with her leg and you pushed her back, a soft hiss leaving your lips at how obvious she was being.
Nerves, but also excitement began to swirl in your body as you felt Fred approach you. You had been circling each other for months, taunting each other with flirty comments, seeking each other out constantly, but never connecting. Part of you had enjoyed the chase, the thrill of catching Fred Weasley staring at you across the classroom, the satisfaction of throwing a flirty comment his way and walking away as his lips pulled up into a smirk. The way he could reduce you to a nervous wreck, or a puddle of pure desire with just a smile, or one compliment, had you always begging for more.
