Love the part in Evil Dead 2 where Jake is being dragged into the cellar and Annie is trying to drag him out by the legs, but even when she's getting hit by a torrent of blood she's still pulling, like

Girl he's soup

I'm watching the behind the scenes, it was 55 gallons of fake blood. Let me reiterate that.

55 gallons. Of fake blood.

Thank you for the insight into how many fake people had to contribute their blood for this moment

Changing borders of Israel / Palestine, 1888-2023.

Incorrect

Here are the administrative districts of the region during Ottoman rule, which didn’t change until 1917 when the British took control of the region.

Now here is the map for the region to be given autonomy in 1920;

Three quarters of the section here shown in yellow, was separated from the original mandate as given as a gift to one family, that of Emir Abdullah I of Jordan.

Now, for the maps showing post WWII and the proposals;

In effect, the people living in what is now known as Palestine are the remnants Jordan and Egypt refused to take in each time they were beaten back after attacking Israel.

Your map up there even touched on it slightly, showing that despite Jordan and Egypt being occupied, the Israelis gave the lands back to them, they then refused to take back the lands that now harbor a terrorist government.

It’s really funny too, if the Arabs had just accepted the first offer they’d currently hold the majority of the region, but because they tried to wipe out all of the Jews they got their asses handed to them, they cry foul play indefinitely.

hey netizens! i'm not sure how many people are aware, but youtube's been slowly rolling out a new anti-adblock policy that can't be bypassed with the usual software like uBlock Origin and Pi-Hole out of the gate

BUT, if you're a uBlock Origin user (or use an adblocker with a similar cosmetics modifier), you can add these commands in the uBlock dashboard (under My Filters) to get rid of it!

youtube.com##+js(set, yt.config_.openPopupConfig.supportedPopups.adBlockMessageViewModel, false) youtube.com##+js(set, Object.prototype.adBlocksFound, 0) youtube.com##+js(set, ytplayer.config.args.raw_player_response.adPlacements, []) youtube.com##+js(set, Object.prototype.hasAllowedInstreamAd, true)

reblog to help keep the internet less annoying and to tell corporations that try shit like this to go fuck themselves <3

yeah I used the uBlock thing to select each element of the darn popup thingy and make it Go Away Forever. I love uBlock.

Quick update, uBlock on its own will block the popup now! Youtube Enhancer, however, will not, and its adblocker will take priority (in that Youtube will put up the stupid flag if you have both)

So if Mar A Lago is actually worth less than half of what it's appraised, does that mean Trump has been overpaying property taxes on it for several decades, and can reclaim everything he was overcharged?

No, I mean yes, but no he can’t reclaim a nickel because of him being literally hitler and all.

“The founding fathers wouldn’t want this”

“The founding fathers meant something different”

The founding fathers thought women were sex toys and black people should be enslaved forever

Who gives a fuck about what the founding fathers want? They’re ll racists and rapers and are burning in hell for their crimes against god

But sure let’s let those horrible founding fathers guide us through our civilization because they sure know about machine guns/tanks/Facebook/phones/cars/anything at issue in the world

They gave us a framework, one they knew wasn't perfect so they also included a way to change it but made it so changing it would be difficult so it couldn't be done a whim.

As for firearms they likely saw repeating arms becoming a thing as well as many other things, consider some of their ages when they put pen to paper.

My grandfather was born before commercial radio was a thing, when he died he'd seen us go land on the moon and have Dick Tracy's watch radio become reality in the form of smartwatches.

His father saw the birth of the automobile and airplane, electricity put to wide use, served in both world wars, saw man land on the moon, and all kinds of other innovations. Mother much the same except the world wars bit.

I've been around since before the CD, home computers, and the internet and look where we are now with all of that.

Foolish to think they wouldn't anticipate improvements in all walks of life, also several of them were abolitionists just not enough of them sadly.

That sex toy bit is untrue as well, as a blanket statement at least Franklin was a manwhore, but women were partners back then, there was tons of sexism and sexist laws and all that (not so) good stuff, really though who wasn't.

Like I said they left us a mechanism for change and if you can convince enough people that your position is the good one that change can happen.

Good luck given that there's only been 17 after the initial 10 needed to get the states signed on post revolution and one of those was there to cancel out the other (prohibition was a dumb idea)

I see that crimes against God thing there too, got bad news for you about a lot of the people involved in the major world faiths from when they were formed.

Whew lads.

But hey, most of them have abandoned the majorly bad bits, don't stone children for cursing their parents anymore and such, slavery is strongly frowned upon by most of the 10 global religions with the most adherents.

Buck up buttercup, things get better, takes time is all.

Point of fact, many, if not most, of the Founding Fathers were staunchly anti-slavery. Benjamin Franklin founded the first abolitionist society in North America; early drafts of the Declaration of Independence included the institution of slavery as one of the causes for the separation; and John Adams predicted that, if America ever had a civil war, slavery would be the issue over which it was fought.

But I bet that anon is one of those types who is perfectly happy throwing out the baby with the bathwater, if it means that they would get to institute communism in its place.

Ya, I really wish I could go back in time and never get the Ouchie. I still caught the Vid afterwards and my advisor has told me of how he’s seeing similarities between his time in the USSR and the ouchie response

We hear that from a lot of people, that America is more and more resembling the totalitarian regimes that a lot of people fled from.

And I'd be willing to wager that, once you got the 'rona, at least one person that you know said, "Well, just imagine how bad it would have been if you hadn't gotten the vaccine!" as if there were any proof to substantiate that claim.

why does this website have such a boner for Palestine? I know people on here love to root for "underdogs" but Jesus Christ. People who are far away from any conflict and are not affected by it always have the most to say, and treating it like a football game where you're the enemy if you don't support their team.

I think it's largely because Islam is an enemy of the democratic west and Israel isn't.

Avatar

And a lot of western leftists side with the Palestinians because they hate Jews.

It's actually very simple:

In the first place, they view Jews as White People (never mind that "Jewish" is also an ethnicity, and a Semitic one, at that), and Palestinians as Brown People. In any situation where there is conflict between White People and Brown People, the White People are automatically the bad guys by default.

In the second place, they view Islam as a radical, revolutionary force capable of destabilizing the liberal democratic societies of the West, something that they want more than anything in the whole world. Never mind that, if the societies of the West did fall, these people would be among the first to find themselves kneeling next to a ditch in preparation for being beheaded; they never think that far ahead. They just assume that the fall of the West will mean that their stupid repressive ideology will be the one to fill the vacuum.

Personal covid vaccine experience

I got: painful symptoms that arises soon after the original second shot that has given me ovary pain that has no origin based on MANY tests since and my advisor (who grew up and fled the USSR) getting ridiculed by the whole department for daring to question the trends of the “vaccine” he was seeing

They got: another statistic for their totally not politically motivated research paper despite people my age literally collapsing for no reason

The only things that the Fauci Ouchies actually did was 1) make Pfizer and Moderna metric fucktons of money, and 2) demonstrate who could be scared and/or socially pressured into compliance.

So based on an ask you got a while ago: why would the loss of america be bad for the planet? Genuine question

America is the best goddamned country in the history of the world. Simple as.

As far as superpowers go, America is the single most benevolent one in history. And if America disappeared, the only nation with the economic and political will to replace it as the new global hegemon would be China, and I don't think that anybody (aside from the CCP) would think that that would be a world they'd want to live in.

A piece of media: This is a complex story where no one is evil and no one is a saint. People are a reflection of their world, their life experiences and trauma. Morality depends on context from which you view the character. You are not supposed to find every character good or even likable. You can take sides and find real life parallels but the biggest point is to make you think and maybe recognize the flaws in yourself as well as the goodness in those you hate.

Tumblr: okay so THIS is the bad person and THIS is the good person. This is the oppressor and this is the oppressed. This is the abuser and this is their victim. If you like this EVIL character you are clearly the same as my asshole dad who reminds me of this character. Not taking a moralistic stance on a fictional story means you are amoral. Analysis is actually about figuring out who the bad-est person is so you can disavow them and who the good-est person is so you can root for them. The media you consume reflects your values and the characters you find interesting are clearly the ones who are exactly the same as you.

Don’t forget:

Piece of media: This was set in the distant past when people believed things we consider problematic now. The characters will be judged on their morals based on that time period, not based on the modern day.

Tumblr: So we will judge them based on current year values. They’re all evil. Gotcha.
