Dinner at Fulton Fish Co. Oysters (yummy; all six were different types but honestly I wasn't paying attention just that the saltier ones were from Massachusetts; I didn't like the vinegar sauce with them though), sashimi on ice (yummy; my companion asked for chopsticks and they gave us this great pair that tapered to thin on both sides), yellowfin tuna tartare (the hummus really worked together well but there were not enough fried lotus chips... needed to be a full plate's circle worth), sea trout crispy sushi (really really good; everything worked together very well; we didn't expect the single bites because we were so focused on "crispy rice" but the fried rice had pleasing crunch and texture and taste, Chipotle mayo added just the right amount of heat, the mint added refreshing quality--hit of the night, could have had a dozen more), grilled octopus (the dish itself was too salty and briny on every count--octopus straight up a salt assault and the salad not balancing at all, I felt like I was being brined--but the octopus was the most tender I've ever eaten in my life, no tough chewiness at al, like if I had blind tasted I don't think I ever would have said octopus, I was so confused how they got the texture; a butter knife cut through it like it was butter). I had a cherry yuzu soda that was very good. Sampled the Green Market Mimosa and it had too many green flavors happening, imo. There was rye bread too but I'm not a fan of rye and this was no exception.
Dessert at Grace Street in K-town that was ridiculously busy at 9ish pm on a Wednesday. It was packed and as loud as a nightclub. The beignets and ho-dduk Korean donuts themselves were not great but the complementing matcha and vanilla ice creams were good. The snow bingsu would probably be a better choice. Felt pressured to order because it was so busy. I enjoyed the lavender milk tea.
