my asexual ass only likes sex in fiction if it's relevant to the plot
Bonnie Langford is set to return to Doctor Who as Melanie Bush for an epic new adventure alongside Ncuti Gatwa’s Doctor.
More details are at: doctorwho.tv
Ace McShane and Kathryn Janeway have never met, but only because their combined unhinged chaotic energy would explode the universe if they did.
friendly reminder to writers who see tegan's sole character trait as "selfish": i am going to bite you

Star Trek: Deep Space Nine // S04E07 Starship Down
First Officer career goals:
Spock: devastate Bones with quippy one-liners, keep brain in own skull (much harder than it sounds), keep friends and family from ever finding out about the existence of the other
Riker: Meet many exciting new people and sleep with them
Kira Nerys: Fight fascists, keep Bajor free, serve the Prophets
Chakotay: Keep Janeway from killing the following;
a.) herself
b.) everyone else
Jack Ransom: maintain work/getting yoked balance
Seven of Nine: keep that punk ass bitch Captain in his own lane
Tysess: Keep Janeway from violating federation law to get Chakotay back
Just assuming old people will be a small percentage. I will redo if I am wrong.
You ever think about how they did a plant-villian the first story after they wrote Peri off?
No and now I'm mad
Oh wow
Charging JNT & Saward with crimes against Peri
You all WISH you could experience having a fandom with an endgame canon ship so universally despised that the official continuation tie-in novel series writers flush it down the toilet within the first 30 pages.
Both parties in said ship show up in subsequent shows neither of which even alludes to the fact the ship even happened
The funny thing is that he could only be canon in the Mirror Universe, but Robert said no
The ‘Mirror Universe’ is the name of a specific alternate reality seen in TOS and DS9 (and Discovery, I think). Unless I’m missing something I think you’re referring to the alternate present seen in Picard which does not have a name as far as I’m aware.
But that is also a fun C/7 fact; Chakotay was going to be on Seven’s show and married to her in an evil AU but the actor was like ‘uh, no’.
No offense to modern Doctor Who but why does every companion stay in the TARDIS until some horrible life altering thing forces them to leave (death, trapped in a parallel universe, memories forcibly taken, etc.). I miss how in Classic Who most companions just said “Hey Doc, this has been fun but I think it’s time I went home” or “hey this planet is pretty cool, I think I’m going to stay here” and the Doctor was just like “okay cool, I’ll always remember you fondly, bye!”
Janeway: Look, this isn't just about Chakotay.
Tysess: Sounds fake but okay.
Me: *Settles in for a relaxing evening and choosing to start Star Trek: Prodigy a show for children*
Star Trek Prodigy: *Starts in a forced labor camp where the children protagonists are prisoners*
Update: Just watched an episode where the characters are confronted with facing their imminent deaths or being stuck in 10 minutes for an eternity while separated on different timelines of the same event.
10/10
I would like to thank the post saying this was the antithesis to Picard season 3 to get me to finally watch
An unused publicity photo. Or a lesbian thirst trap. Or both.
Please reblog this if fanfiction has been beneficial to your mental health.
Both reading it and writing it.
I will never recover from that scene in 'Mindwalk' where they're just watching Dal-In-Janeway's-Head walking on the OUTSIDE HULL of the ship WHILE IT'S IN WARP and they're all just like
"Yeaaah, that's something Janeway would do."
Dal is Janeway's kinda crazy
Cause it's true! Janeway in Dal's body heard "space walk through a merged warp bubble" and her response was "yeah! Sounds like fun!"
You know she put this crazy on the Dauntless crew all the time, and they always pulled her back. She met the Protostar crew, and immediately called dibs.
Janeway sees the Protostar kids and thinks: 'A bunch of former child slaves without parental guidance who stole Chakotays ship and are now joyriding around the Delta Quadrant with a weapon of mass destruction on board playing pretended Starfleet cadets? Sounds like my kind of people.' And then she immediately fills out adoption papers.
In Season 1, the Dauntless crew likely would've preferred the Admiral stay on board the ship where it was safe, but no, she insisted on being front and center on all their away missions.
So we know season 2 is going to be nuts. Now that she knows where Chakotay is, and he's in danger, she's going to go full Macrocosm leading the away missions to rescue him.
The kids will stare in awe, and poor Dal will not know what to do with himself. His hero worship will just get cranked up to 11, and that is the level of crazy badass he will aspire to be for the rest of his life.
Janeway is the best kind of bad influence on these kids.
Prodigy season 2 be like:
Hollywood Writers Strike: Official Sources
The Writer's Guild of America has voted to strike, and I want to get out ahead of something Tumblr is bad about doing and encourage y'all to PLEASE get your information about the strike from the guild itself, not from random people on Tumblr telling you it's "actually" about this or that.
The WGA wants the public to understand why they are striking. They have plenty of info available that is written with a general audience in mind.
- WGA.org is the official website of the Writer's Guild of America West.
- WGAwest is on Twitter and posting extensively about the negotiations and strike. This account is linked from the WGA website.
- WGA also has a Linktree (linked from their Twitter bio) with more information about the strike, including their own Twitter threads about various strike issues, as well as articles in the media.
- WGA Contract 2023 is a website full of information about the strike. It is one of the first links in the Linktree above. It's a great resource if you want to get deeper into the subject. There is a FAQ.
Any third party explaining the issue for you has an opportunity to, intentionally or not, insert their own spin or agenda. Get the information from the source.
🗣 WRITERS AREN'T SHUTTING DOWN HOLLYWOOD THE NETWORKS ARE
the antidote to picard s3 going “only blood family matters” is prodigy’s “these random kids from the delta quadrant who have nothing to do with voyager have inherited voyager’s legacy not even having met the original janeway at first because they were inspired to join starfleet by a hologram version of janeway that came about when chakotay refused to go into the delta quadrant without the memory of his captain by his side, and they will honor her and all her kindness even after she’s gone”
Spiritually Janeway is a dirty gremlin with grease on her face who maybe wears lipstick and mascara but definitely doesn’t fuck with foundation or blush and brushes her hair twice a week if she needs it or not. Unfortunately Voyager was made in the 90s
Gremlin Janeway, considering murder; probably complete with stink lines: coffee coffee coffee coffee science coffee coffee coffee chaos coffee coffee WARP CORE coffee coffee coffee
Chakotay, very pretty, somewhat vain, only skimps on hair product in the most dire of circumstances: 🤨 yeah I’m gonna need to marry that
