The worst part about mental illness is that doubt that you have it. Like yeah I have a professional diagnosis and I get panic attacks and anxiety attacks for no reason and yeah I sometimes can’t even function enough to get out of bed in the morning but what if I’m just faking for attention??

Everybody look at this post and the notes on it and realise that telling mentally ill people they’re just attention-seeking fakers is a really shitty, gross thing to do.

I will be eternally angry that The Movement didn’t get the recognition that it deserved in the comic book world.

Thank you.

In retrospect, I think we could have launched it very differently.

I miss the characters a lot!

God I loved The Movement. I always see people blame the marketing for it not catching on but I heard about it all over the place. My guess is that it wasn't passive enough for them, I kept seeing people complain about not knowing how to feel about what the characters were doing and whether they should root for them. It was tackling issues that I think a lot of people didn't want to confront, and I think some of them are afraid to admit that and blame marketing instead. Maybe I'm completely wrong but from the comments I've seen, that's the theory I've settled on.

Hey gang!

Here’s a look at my cover to issue 2 of Howard the Duck, featuring the Guardians of the Galaxy — making ‘duck faces’.

Have a great weekend.

#DailySketch Boy at the End.

Boy At the End is a story that I’ve been working on here and there for 4 years or so. I was pretty deep into writing it when I’m dad passed away and after that, it was tough to tell the kind of story i wanted to tell. It had a lot of personal things woven into the fabric of the tale and my head wasn’t in that space for a few years.

Over the last few years, Boy has made his way back into my life thru daily sketches and I’m loving what he’s turned into over the break. I’m going to keep exploring his path and see if we can’t bring him to life after I HATE FAIRYLAND is done. I think he’ll be ready to share his story with you by then.

And a bonus today. One of my favorite artists CHARLES SANTOSO did me the great honor by creating a piece of fan art for Boy. I almost cried when I was this. Thank you Charles!

interesting how this isn’t getting as much traction as emma watsons “revolutionary” feminist speech at the UN

The Comic Sans font was inspired by The Dark Knight Returns and Watchmen comic books. Microsoft designer Vincent Connare created it after seeing a horrible beta version of a user-friendly Windows interface that used Times New Roman in the word balloons of cartoon characters. Source
