my father told me once to never date anyone who talks smoothly around you from the start because if someone likes you they should be a little nervous and honestly i think that’s some of the best advice anyone has ever given me

i told my dad about this text post and he got so excited he teared up and then he said he felt like he just adopted forty thousand new children to share his wisdom with and he hopes all of you meet kind, sweet people he would be proud of
This is all I’ve done so far! I cringed at the idea of doing a comparison because my own art looks terrible when compared to the original masterpieces, but since others have done it I figured I may as well. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
The most fun part about doing these pieces is that I feel I’m exploring the original painters’ mind a little. And hopefully learning something from them in the process! :P
Last message from this old man in Aleppo: ‘We don’t have anything left. Oh Arabs, where are you? We are being slaughtered. Save us.’

To everyone commenting on this video saying how they don’t feel like they can help, you absolutely can! Islamic Relief and Syria Relief are both registered charities running emergency Aleppo appeals, and even if you can’t donate, you can at least reblog or post on different social media sites or anything to get the word out.
It's just so.... WOW, how when Katara first tells Aang that the Fire Nation killed her mother (Southern Air Temple) that he totally brushes that off and talks about the airbenders. Meanwhile, Zuko tells her he's sorry, and later tells her that her mother was a brace woman. Does Aang even know the details like Zuko does? I can't actually imagine Katara confiding this in Aang.
I love Aang in Book 1, but he is obviously still a kid. He is sweet and he means well, but he isn’t really ready for any kind of relationship. That isn’t a bad thing because he is so young. But even early on, she took on a more parental role. She shelters him from finding out how the Fire Nation invaded the Air Temple. But she never confides in him about her past.
With Zuko, Katara was so surprised that someone was able to understand her, that she instantly went from being angry at him to feeling compassion for him. Their conversation was more equal, and Zuko was also able to confide in Katara about things that he never told anyone else. Even his canon girlfriend.
Katara gives a lot of herself emotionally to Aang, but he is not mature enough to give it back. Aang never comforts Katara like she does with him. Katara needs someone who is on an equal level to her.
It makes a lot of sense why Zuko and Katara were originally going to be paired together. What Aaron Ehasz said about them being able to understand each other and their communication is very true. They don’t have this with their canon significant others.
Real quick there’s something I pointed out to Ben about this comic that got to him. The last two panels, they look like they’re copy pasted right? Take a good look at those details. that shit was lovingly drawn twice it’s just so good you can’t tell at first glance.
One more reason why I adore this out of context four panel masterpiece.
