One of the worst things to feel is loving someone more than they love you. When you'd expose yourself, lush your boundaries, and be around people you didn't want to in order to spend time with them. And they want to make new friends with new people. And you give everything and they aren't benefitted. You give them your time and love and they don't give back. Like let's say you want to tag a romantic relationship between A and B and between B and C but a platonic relationship between A and C
At the moment you'd have to tag A/B/C and imply all pairings are romantic and/or tag A/B, B/C and A&C separately so lose the polyam aspect of the ship in those tags. Not the greatest
And god forbid you're looking for a fic with that combination of things, because writers always solve the problem in different ways.
BUT if shipping tags were distributive you could say B/(A&C) and if you "expand" the bracket you get B/A & B/C. That means B has a romantic relationship with both A and C, and A and C have a platonic relationship with each other
