I think we need to talk about the fact that the scroll Raya stole in ratld was literally worthless. I mean one of Namaari’s Fang soldiers said it himself that it didn’t make sense to find a scroll with no value. It’s like if a burglar stole a child’s book from someone’s house. Like yeah it sucks that the book was stolen but it’s not a very big loss. Can you IMAGINE how this conversation went down:

Namaari, after figuring out the scroll was stolen and knowing damn well it was Raya who took it: get in losers we’re going to track down the scroll and thief. I suspect the princess of heart is the one who took it. We leave at dawn.

General Atitaya to Chief Virana: uhhhh Chief...do we actually have to find the scroll? Isn’t it like...you know...worthless and unimportant in every possible way?

Chief Virana: shhhh shes going through her sapphic yearning phase let her be

General Atitya: she’s been in this phase for six years. WE ARE TIRED

Them but the Druun never happened:

Charanya, twelve years old pointing at Raya’s vest: hey what’s that patch for?

Raya: it’s the ‘I saw a cute girl’ patch

Charanya, scanning the area: where?

Raya, pointing at Namaari: duh, that one over there with the undercut

Charanya: *grabs the patch from Raya’s vest and chucks it on the ground*

Fought for me

Chapter 9: I'll Get To You Somehow

(You thought this was a story about Raya and Namaari's relationship? No, it's a story about Raya and Charanya being besties. This is honestly a filler chapter more than anything. Okay but I promise we get a good Namaari scene and she'll be more prevalent in the next chapter. She'll show up more in the next chapter. Anyways, hope you enjoy!)

Being Charanya's best friend is taking ten years off Raya's lifespan. Sure, rebuilding Heart and working with the other lands to achieve peace is stressful, but making sure Charanya stays out of trouble?

Practically impossible.

The first major issue Raya encountered with Charanya was her interactions with those in charge of agriculture in Heart a couple weeks ago. A few noble families from Heart own the farms and are in charge of harvesting food each season. Though there isn't really any explicit rule book for how each farm operates, the other noble families all unofficially chose Niran as their leader.

Quite the burly alpha man, Niran always seemed to know exactly what to do in order to get the best crops possible. Everyone else followed his orders to produce the best results.

That is, until the Druun hit.

Like most other Heart civilians, Niran was one of the first people to get turned to stone. He's no longer familiar with the way the soil works or the best area for water quality.

Six years was plenty of time to drastically change how the agriculture of Heart needed to run. The only person that's been harvesting anything from Heart in the past six years is Charanya. That means that now everyone now looks to her for guidance instead of Niran.

And boy is he pissed about it.

Raya gives “dad who didn’t want the pet ended up having the strongest bond with it” vibes:

Namaari: hello dep la. Love of my life. Moon to my stars. Most beautiful woman to ever be created. Mother of our child. Most gorgeous-

Raya: I have a feeling I will not enjoy what you say after these very true compliments

Namaari: I think Aulia can explain it best

Aulia, eight years old: we rescued a kitty! Can we keep her?! Please! We’ll take great care of her!

Raya, glaring at Namaari: you made her ask that on purpose

Namaari: I will not confirm or deny

Raya, groaning: fine. But I better not see that damn cat anywhere near me!

*approximately one week later*

Aulia, skipping into Namaari’s office: hey where’s Kitty?

Namaari: in her favorite spot

Aulia, running off: ok!

Raya: *laying down with Kitty purring on her chest*

Aulia: Ma, it’s time to feed her

Raya, pouting: five more minutes?

Aulia, putting her hands on her hips: dinner time is no joke young lady

Raya: I suppose that’s true. I’ll miss you while you’re gone *kisses Kitty’s forehead*

Aulia, scooping up the cat: ‘better not see that cat near me’. Yeah right
