Not An Actual Moomin Blog

@moominmeister

I just like Moomin
They/them, but VERY gay
I rarely use tags so don’t stick around if you need them. This blog is for my entertainment alone, the fact that others can view it is irrelevant.

The thing about Peggy hill is you see her in some episodes and you might think well this woman has some lesbionic mannerisms. but the truth is she's just one of those very sporty southern moms who inexplicably gets away with not upholding their side of the gender roles even in communities where everyone is kinda expected to do that. Like she kinda gets to do what she wants. Cause she's Peggy that's just how Peggy is. And she has a husband and a kid so they're like ok fine I guess

Like if you told her she looked gay here she would laugh really awkwardly and be like Well, I hope you mean that as in "happy", because in that case I am positively gay. I am so gay and in love with my wonderful husband Hank. And Hank would be like *texan sigh* Peggy, You can't go around tellin people you're "gay" for me. People are gonna start to get the wrong idea. And then shed accuse Hank of being homophobic and double down

listening to music with headphones is so awesome especially when it shoots straight into your brain and you can pick out all its little layers like sandwich ingredients

watching people on tiktok consume borax is uh. something.

having to say “don’t eat borax” was not on my 2023 bingo

Can’t believe in the year 2023 we have to say: do not consume borax. It will not provide a “parasite cleanse”, it does not combat the “evil fluoride” in your water, and it is not a super mineral. It will damage your organs. Also, it’s not rated for human consumption so frankly, who knows what it’s cross-contaminated with (my personal bet would be arsenic).

Now listen I don't know much about tree law other than 1) It's taken very seriously by lawyers and 2) Some states have what are called treble damages in that you can be fined/charged triple the cost of the damage to the tree (California only uses this when it can be proved the harm was intentional).

Babes. I might not know a lot about tree law but I know Universal killed those trees. The previous owners of my sister's house trimmed her trees just like that and the city had to come out and replace them because they'd been butchered to the point they were growing back wrong in a way that killed them. If you want city trees trimmed, you have to call the city and they'll send out the arborists/tree trimming company they're contracted with.

Anyway I think they'd have a good case for treble damages which at that point it would have just been cheaper for Universal to give the writers and actors what they wanted.

Hey do you guys remember what I said about it definitely killing the trees

my gf just ripped some ungodly ass that had my eyes watering i mean absolutely noxious it was so bad i made her leave the bedroom until she was done and i opened the window and shoved my head out so i didn’t throw up breathing in the tainted air of our once peaceful bedroom.

anyways once it dissipated and i got back into bed she walked back in and looked me in the eyes and said “sorry for farty rocking 🥺”

this is what she looked like

Every 21st century piece of writing advice: Make us CARE about the character from page 1! Make us empathize with them! Make them interesting and different but still relatable and likable!

Every piece of classic literature: Hi. It's me. The bland everyman whose only purpose is to tell you this story. I have no actual personality. Here's the story of the time I encountered the worst people I ever met in my life. But first, ten pages of description about the place in which I met them.

Modern writing advice: Yes your protagonist should have flaws but ultimately we should root for them and like them from the beginning :)

Charles Dickens: Here is the worst ugliest rudest meanest nastiest bitch you’ve ever met in your life.

Modern writing advice: Make sure your POV character goes through a significant arc! Make sure they are changed by the narrative! Make sure they learn a lesson!

Narrators of every book of the 19th century: the lesson I learned is these people fucking suck, sayonara you freaks

Modern writing advice: It’s all about the character overcoming obstacles and learning! They learn their lesson so they can fix their mistakes and make good choices in the future! It’s a character arc! It’s called growth! Readers love it!

Everyone from ancient times through the 19th century: would you like to watch a Guy fuck up twenty times in a row

if Netflix goes bankrupt they should release s5 but with no sfx and have the demogorgon be a stick with a tennis ball on top and Jamie serving cunt in the vecna suit. Millie concentrates real hard and nothing happens. I won't mind

Tatiana Maslany was literally insane for playing like 12 different people with the same face and then interacting with multiple versions of herself for five whole seasons

she really Did That™ and we are all incredibly grateful

No! No, but here's the important thing! She did it so flawlessly, that you would actually forget these characters are the same actress.

I found myself feeling bad for the actor who plays Alison's husband, because "he never gets to work with Maslany," because in my head I kept equating her with Sarah, when literally he only worked with Maslany!

The special effects were so seemless, and her performances were so flawless that we have never seen this gimmick done this effectively, this naturally. And I don't think we ever will again.

She deserved that emmy.

It’s impossible to describe how phenomenally good a job Maslany did with these characters. Like, it wasn’t just that she played every one of these characters so genuinely and distinctly that you forgot they were the same actress. It was also that the characters, being clones, would deceive people by playing each other.

Alison would be on the screen, and you’d be like, “that’s Alison”. Then Sarah would be on the screen, and you’d be like, “that’s Sarah”. Then someone who looked exactly like Sarah would be on the screen, and you’d be like, “Oh, Alison is pretending to be Sarah.” And some of the clones were better at pretending to be each other than other clones were. And you could always tell who you were looking at and who they were trying to imitate.

Ubisoft Assassin's Creed's Evie Frye Voice Actress Victoria Atkins has been replaced by AI while protesting for SAG-AFTRA

She also never receives residuals

And yet Ubisoft continues to make more AC games whilst not even paying their workers what they’re owed… and using AI. Wow.
