What are some of your favorite kyman fics? I don’t care how few or many you list I just like to hear about ones you enjoy

is it bad if I’m honest and say I don’t read many fics? I usually get attached to certain stories and have trouble moving onto new ones (I’m crazy nostalgic). but here are some of my favourites! in alphabetical order and all linked, as I really DO encourage you guys to check these out. not all of them are smut, but the ones that are, are top!kyle/bottom!cartman. these all come highly rec’d…I’m pretty picky, even w/ fandom literature.

baby, let’s not fight | pipercase | ao3this is just a one-shot, but if you want something nice and fluffy, here’s the fic for you! kyle and cartman are in a relationship and they’ve been FIGHTING…but cartman is so damn cute, kyle can’t REALLY stay mad at him… (read here)

Baby, Now You Do | charmzz | ao3really long, but a good read and hey! it’s actually finished! the author is a sweetheart too…it begins on a kyman trope I don’t *love* (cartman being away from south park for years) and leads into an FWB relationship between kyle and cartman, but it’s written so well, the tropes don’t bother me. has a really heartfelt conclusion too and LOTS of smut…I know I said these were all pine/tie fics, but this one is about 80% top!kyle, 20%, service top!cartman…like, if that matters… (read here)

Cartman’s Silly Sex Crime | Leona Rose | ff.netgod, this was the first kyman fic I read and actually enjoyed…it’s from 2009, explicit and KYLE is the one in control, which is…rare? for a fic that’s 9 yrs old (before the “pine” revolution, there were (according to shay) not many fics w/ kyle calling the shots).

it gets bonus points, bc it reads like an actual episode of south park. aged-up. god, obviously. trigger warnings for blood and injury. (read here)

Disintegration (is the best album ever) | dont_at_me_im_seriously | ao3I’m actually behind on this fic on behalf of it having long(er) chapters and myself having the attention span of a gnat and energy level of a…sloth…(I’m basically narcoleptic), but like…wow. if you’re looking for a fic that’s:

the author is really pretentious (-; but it’s great nonetheless…like seriously. an experience…although I might be extra biased (wink), bc my parents raised me listening to kate bush, tears for fears and the cure…and there are a lot of refs to the cure in this fic. but seriously: it’s a fanfic w/ ILLUSTRATIONS in it!!! are you not sold already? (read here)

history repeats our whole damn lives | billbert | ao3this was written by a close friend of mine!! well, we actually become friends post-fic…if that’s an indicator of how much I love it. this one is NOT at all a healthy portrayal of kyman…but it’s like…GOD, it’s basically a mental breakdown put perfectly into words…and yet, it’s so smoothly written and ADDICTIVE, with elements of poetry. this is the art house of kyman fics. it’s smutty and nasty and FUCKED-UP, but GOD, it’s so good…trigger warnings can all be found in the tags. (read here)

How to Live a Lie | limeinthecoconut | ao3this is anna’s favourite kyman fic, so it comes highly recommended! this one takes place post s20, where kyle takes the blame for gerald’s online trolling to take the heat off of his father. meanwhile, cartman is desperate to break-up w/ heidi and doesn’t know how…so, to preserve himself from any blame or anger from his gf, and in an attempt to take negative attention away from kyle (in the hopes their classmates will sympathize w/ the pair and let kyle off the hook for his dad’s crimes), cartman ropes kyle into a plan that involves them pretending to be a gay couple. they’re canon-aged in this one and once again, it feels like an actual episode of south park. totally worth the read! (read here)

In a Mirror, Festively | SynapticFirefly | ao3this is my all-time favourite kyman fic…and fic of all time. um, I probably love this fic more than any published book I’ve ever read, tbh…I talk about it…all the time. like, if you ask any of my friends/mutuals, they will mock me endlessly for it — and this does include my irl friends, too. it’s a REALLY fucked-up story and I balled my eyes out around chapter…8/9…? holly jolly time is approaching us pretty fast, so it might be time for me to reread it again, myself.

before you start it, I must warn you: like HROWDL, it’s not a very, er…healthy…portrayal of kyman…not that it NEEDS to be. my own fanfic (idify) is, like…imo, an unhealthy portrayal of kyman, too. ofc, I’m a sucker for fluff, but god, do I EVER love stories like THIS. lots of smut and violence. it came out in december 2k15, so they would have been doin’ it to ari’s xmas&chill…I actually only got to reading it earlier this year which is a travesty, but god, am I EVER glad I did…

so basically, it takes place in the mirror-verse (au: think s2′s “spookyfish”): imagine kyle as a dangerous, murderous, rich bad boy and cartman (or “eric”, as he’s referred to as in this fic) is a sweetheart; a charity-driven, kindhearted chubby lil’ angel…oh yeah, and kyle and cartman are also like, long-term boyfriends, who do-the-dirty every 5 minutes. and there’s a gang war. and jealousy…but one of my fave parts of this fic (besides bad boy kyle…SIGH!), is that it’s actually KYLE who makes the first move on eric, despite having every girl in town dropping at his feet. no spoilers, but it’s told partially in flashbacks and kyle and cartman’s first kiss scene makes my knees weak every damn time…oh and on top of that, it’s got LOTS of fanart and HCs outside of the story, confirmed as story-canon by the author!! THE angel baby, sleepyeule, has like, a thousand different pieces for mirror-verse, but here’s my favourite… (read here)

one by one, into the dark | leere | ao3this one is still on my reading list, but it’s done by shay, so…it literally cannot be bad. she’s a super talented writer and creative to boot. this is an FBI/serial killer au and there IS buttman content, just in case that ain’t yo thang…but otherwise…dive in…aus are fun and shay has been writing kyman fanfiction for like, significantly longer than I have. (read here)

The Rules | creatortan | ao3so, as a rule (seriously, no joke intended), I don’t really wanna put more than one fic by the same author here, but creo has lots of one-shots that are just too delectable. this one is more of a prose piece than an actual story, but GOD is it great… (read here)see also:

The Smoking Section | shortstackedkyman | ff.netdo you want your heart physically torn from your chest, but like, in a good kinda way? this is the fic for you, then…it’s so…fucking…romantic…like they’re just so in love…this is POETRY in the form of fanfiction. there’s really nothing else there to say, but this fic captured my heart. it’s a tearjerker of the sweet variety. shay rec’d this one to me and it’s one of my faves now. don’t let the FF domain spook you! (read here)

Sunday best and broken glass | cherryvanilla | ao3UGH THIS FIC!! hella dreamy!!! this is just…a super sweet one-shot about cartman basically finally fessing-up his feelings to kyle, but before that there’s a scene where they shotgun a cigarette, and then later on…hmm well! I guess you’ll have to find-out (; kyleisartificiallysweetened actually did lovely art for this one, but she ended up deleting her blog, months back ): if anyone can find it again, you’d be doing everyone a large favour! (read here)

Time Bomb | sweeticing | ao3tis the season! ummm, this is a holiday one-shot from last year, so like, what better time to resurrect it…? new years’ eve and kyle and cartman are basically trapped together in a bathroom at a party…so, naturally…you know the drill…things HAPPEN…also, the analogy from the title is like…right on point in this fic. you’ll get what I mean if you proceed… (read here)see also:

(TO BE NAMED…) | @steidiz | tumblrthis fic literally doesn’t have a name, but it’s basically an extended HC that eva wrote and it’s REALLY touching!! according to her latest reblog, she’s going to post it to ao3, but this is part uno. kyle and cartman are already in an established relationship, but still end up confronting their real feelings for each other once and for all, thanks to a stupid, poetry assignment…she’s got another fic in the works rn too! looking forward to that… (read here)

i know who you pretend i am | billbert | ao3sorry, I can’t really help but rep bekah…they’re so talented. this is another one of their fics! it’s kenman, but it’s one-sided, where cartman is basically pretending that kenny is kyle whenever they hook-up…if you’re into some good love triangle angst…you might wanna check this one out… (read here)
