Every few months twitterinas bring back the “carnivores are a problematic element of nature and we should feed them synthetic meat and make it so they don’t eat herbivores. this is completely normal, feasible and won’t have any kind of repercussion on the ecosystem” discourse
First time I saw that was a guy who had as proposition to create fake prey animals with a robotic exoskeleton and covered in synthetic meat that predators would hunt, eat and then the exoskeleton would get up and go to the lab to get re meated. That was funny as hell
Squid I'm so sorry you had to find out about these people this way.
Have you found the one suggestion to build a big fence across the Serengeti and put all the predators on one side and all the herbivores on the other yet?
See, cats will eat grass, as will dogs, so this means that they CAN, they just want to eat meat, but this would force them to learn to live on grass!!!
(This is an actual argument that has been made)
I.... I have no words
The- you- no
Absolutely the fuck not
Like I said earlier on Discord; a hobby of mine is investigating fringe diets on the internet and seeing what the reasoning is for whatever fad they've come up with now.
I like to study the people who make this sort of argument. Like spores on agar under a microscope. It's fascinating to puzzle out what makes them tick.
See I understand this but also like
Do they not....exist .... In reality?? I mean. Have they not encountered roadkill? Lost a family member? I'm
What possible environment does someone have to be raised in where they're so isolated from reality that 'we should commit ecological destruction on a continental - global - scale because that is the only moral thing to do' becomes a a valid philosophy to have??
In a simple word, cities.
Cities very far from where their food is produced.
They don't know how it is produced. Not really. And they have lost people; thats often why they fear death so very very much. Rather than realizing that everything dies in the end and it's okay, they veer into trying to prevent ALL death, so that nothing ever has to experience the pain they did.
And in the end they refuse to think about how, even if we all have perfect nutrition and healthcare, even if every animal on the planet somehow had perfect healthcare and no threat of predation, death would come for us anyway
There are also vegans against venus fly traps now.
And all carnivorous plants, yep.
Wait until they figure out what happens to literally all of us, all animals ever born and who will ever be born, when we die.
(Plants will eat us. That's what will happen. No amount of embalming will prevent it all.)
