Godzilla vs Cleveland (1985)
These magazine ads were placed in 1985 by Cannon Group to attract financial backers for their monster movie spoof. The script was by Dana Olsen (The 'Burbs, Inspector Gadget). According to Olsen, "Toho's lawyers came knocking, practically the very next day".
Olsen had originally shopped the script as “It Ate Cleveland”, but Menahem Golan at Cannon insisted on using the name “Godzilla”.
