Korben seemed to be improving but his blood test results from yesterday are worsening and he has refused to eat anything for nearly two days and his appetite had been steadily decreasing before that. We have been referred to an internist but most of them can’t see us for a month so hopefully we can get an appointment with someone before then. He has inflammation of his gall bladder, liver, and common bile duct. He was throwing up every day for a week last month and that’s what triggered the multiple ultrasounds, antibiotics, food changes, etc. I thought he had really taken to his new food and he was having good bowel movements and it was all looking like antibiotics and new food would fix whatever it is but he lost a bunch of weight in a short amount of time and it appears that he is now completely unwilling to eat anything at all. I don’t know if he is just protesting the medications as best he can or if he is in pain or what, I’ve given him an anti emetic but he still doesn’t want to eat. I am real fucked up about this, and a bunch of other things happening right now that are unrelated.
Some asshole is trying to steal my money via zelle transactions and I just got off a half hour phonecall with my bank’s fraud department and now I’m getting a bunch of delayed emails cuz the asshole turned off my security alerts and apparently he tried to set up an external account for transfers via the gmail account “richsince04”. The fucking AUDACITY.
If you’re gonna steal thousands of dollars steal it from some millionaire who won’t fucking miss it!

this is inspired by a conversation i had with other neurodivergent people, and now i'm curious
#I am in fact sensory SEEKING with foods#if I don’t have a wiiiide variety of textures and tastes in a day I start going loopy and extra sad#meatiness as a texture is really interesting#because it can come in so many different ways and with other accompanying textures#my bff is very sensory avoidant with a lot of atypical meat textures though#he hates fish and firm tofu and anything with bones in it#not cuz of the taste but cuz of the texture#he likes chopped spicy tuna and soft tofu in soups and meatballs for example#for me I think my favorite meat texture is probably seared outside with soft inside#but following the primal steak urge would be shredded chicken or big flakes of fish#food

I saw a post saying that Boromir looked too scruffy in FotR for a Captain of Gondor, and I tried to move on, but I’m hyperfixating. Has anyone ever solo backpacked? I have. By the end, not only did I look like shit, but by day two I was talking to myself. On another occasion I did fourteen days’ backcountry as the lone woman in a group of twelve men, no showers, no deodorant, and brother, by the end of that we were all EXTREMELY feral. You think we looked like heirs to the throne of anywhere? We were thirteen wolverines in ripstop.
My boy Boromir? Spent FOUR MONTHS in the wilderness! Alone! No roads! High floods! His horse died! I’m amazed he showed up to Imladris wearing clothes, let alone with a decent haircut. I’m fully convinced that he left Gondor looking like Richard Sharpe being presented to the Prince Regent in 1813

Circus arts AU!!!
Dustin is a clown obviously and works with creature puppets, Lucas does archery trick shots and knife throwing, El does aerial trapeze and balance acts, Max does stunts with skateboards and trick bikes, Mike does stage magic and crowd work, and Will does juggling and other object manipulation, as well as PICKPOCKETING because he loves crime! (Don’t worry it’s just close up magic, he gives everyone their stuff back. Usually.)
Mike’s family is extremely disappointed that he ran away to join the circus, but Will’s family IS the circus - Joyce and Jonathan have both worked a million different jobs for the circus for decades, from payroll and publicity to cleaning and set design, sewing costumes and cooking breakfast and booking performance locations and hashing out travel logistics. Joyce maybe started by sweeping up after shows and worked her way up. Will started by painting sets and soon enough started designing them, arguing about lighting and music and ambiance with Jonathan, and falls into the juggling act because their previous performers retired and he had been assisting them for years. But it turns out he is amazing at it even though he doesn’t really believe it when everyone tells him so.
Also!! Murray tells people’s fortunes, Steve runs concessions in a cute little outfit (lol), and Hopper is an acrobat who has been doing every imaginable type of movement performance for ages but he broke his ankle real bad and has had to retire and he doesn’t know what to do with himself except to help train El and obsess over the safety of every performer (and woo Joyce).
due to factors such as "time pressure" and "tulle is of the devil" my expectations for this shirt are not high. but i spent a lot of time imagining these button bands and they turned out pretty nice
progress on this includes:
- attached the back and the yoke; did the yoke with wonky little panels for reinforcement(?), as it's not double-layered, and for a fun symmetrical piecing moment
- attached fronts to back at shoulders (not pictured)
- constructed a collar and collar stand and arranged Leafs upon it
- started hand stitching down leafs. it would be more elegant to do this before assembling the collar, but i can't visualize how both the seam allowances and the crease in the collar work + the tulle is itchy if misplaced
have yet to do sleeves, side seams, finishing hand stitching on collar, attaching collar, sleeve plackets (on tulle??), cuffs, Buttonholes (evil to me)
Shirt's done except for finishing the collar handstitching & touching up some of the buttonholes (used a friend's fancy machine with varying success). Lots of things wrong with it that are hard to see from more than three feet away
No pictures of it on me because I have yet to obtain a suitable layering piece which is a really funny problem to have!

Finished the collar! If you want to make embroidery you cut out of some tulle look like it is On There For Real this is what I did
- roughly cut out and place embroidery. baste with glue stick (glue sticks to the back of the embroidery and not the tulle)
- tack it down with a color matched running stitch (or whatever) along the stems and centers
- cut off more tulle from the edges with tinier scissors
- tack down the edges. with, in this case, a different thread color, do a faux chain stitch where you grab the very end of a stitch from the extant embroidery
- like so
this has the benefit of kind of squashing down any tulle that didn't get trimmed
and now it moves with the fabric and doesn't stick up at the edges!
