Interested in several types but lately almost obsessed with Yuri

There’s something so juxtaposing about Toga remembering Twice telling her to kill as many people as she likes (not good advice bro) so she can be whoever she likes (she wants to be herself which is the problem with this advice)

and then hearing Ochacko toss that “become whoever you like” nonsense out the window by saying she is perfect just the way she is

One thing I feel we can’t forget in all of this mess is that Toga’s emotional break started happening because she couldn’t completely become Twice, which means something negative is associated with his memory.

The placement of the memory of him telling her to continue doing something she’s been doing unhappily in between hearing validating words is just agakdhlssjs I have no words.

I guess the problem is the paradox of her power. It's really difficult making her feel better. Here Twice is being supportive of her drinking blood and using her Quirk to become someone else. That's being herself, at the same time, she is also traumatized since her parents wanted her to be someone else and stop being a "deviant", they made her feel like a monster and hate herself a little bit. So a part of her want to become the person she love becouse that's the way she is, but the other is because she hates herself. However, if someone just say you are perfect you don't have to become someone else, it looks like a roundabout way of making her stop using her Quirk.

Being herself shouldn't have to mean killing people but that's the only way they know and is how everyone thinks the outcome would be. Her parents saw her wanting to drink blood and saw her as a monster and were always quick to believe she had hurt someone and were already "predicting" what would happen, that she would become a psychopath and a serial killer. They couldn't see another way of providing her with blood. Only violence seemed to be the way.

The moment Toga snap two think must have happened, first, she might have feel relief and happiness of being able to drink blood and use her Quirk. The moment the adrenaline and rush start to go down though, she would have been terrified and disgusted because she has prove her parents right and all that mistreatment and pain would have look justify. However, if things hadn't gone like this her parents would have still treated her like a monster not matter if she was the perfect child, hell they might even feel pride of their "parenting" because what they did was necessary for their daughter to be "normal".

A lot of feelings must have boiled of just thinking "fuck it I feel free I would find my own happiness" but at the back of her mind any time she is "hunting" she would hear what her parents have told her. Then Stain came, and she saw someone with a blood Quirk who was criticizing and killing Heroes that was not worthy. She must have always had a black or white mentality regarding heroes and villains. But here was an ex vigilante saying heroes can be unworthy too. So maybe the other way around is possible too, he gave her hope that maybe is society that have to change to make a space that make her life easy. She goes to the LOV following Stain footsteps and find a community who sometimes she argues with but has accepted her not matter what, even the killings. However, they also misunderstand her, since her wish is not to keep killing people she just want to drink blood and feel the connection through it. She doesn't realize that what Twice said have bothered her because she also believe that's what she wants but is not.

This last chapters show what she truly wanted. Her Quirk to be accepted and also someone willing to give her blood. I don't know how much Ochako know about what this means to Toga that blood is a love language for Toga. However, things have been more complicated. The LOV fight is not just her fight. Everyone is doing their own thing but I wonder if she would feel she has to keep fighting for them and for the world they want too, after all Tomura was willing to make space for the wishes of his comrades and Dabi burned her old house and she doesn't know if he is still alive, Spinner risked a lot to free Kuroguri which we don't know what happened to him after doing that. Is she willing to save herself and have what she wanted? Will she even believe Ochako or Hero society?

Yesss, the conversation is going way better than we expected. We only need Ochako willing to take Toga's quest to make a world easy to live. Even if is hard and almost impossible show that she care, show that she is willing to carry her dream. Toga is affected from everything she said but I worry she is going to try to convince herself that Ochako is lying, I am worried she is going to get distracted by noticing Hawks. I am worried but also delited if she express her loyalty and love for her friends and continue fighting for them and probably being able to used their Quirks. That might happen, but I also think that she might save Ochakos life. Remember Ochako is still wounded she is going to fall and Toga might use the Ochakos blood not only to stop the fall that would kill them both but to heal Ochako. She might do what Twice did for her, use Ochakos clone to do a blood transfusion. Doing that, might get her captured or might stop the death parade earlier. I want both thing Toga express her loyalty to LOV but Ochako still being so important for her that she would try to save Ochakos life.

What Role Are You Playing? Communication, queerness, and neurodivergence in Yuri is My Job!

Content Warning: discussion of ableism and queerphobia

Spoilers for vol. 1-5 of Yuri is My Job!

Miscommunication is one of the oldest and easiest narrative devices in fiction. The tragic lovers die because of a miscarried message; the protagonist becomes convinced that they’re hated because they didn’t stay to eavesdrop for ten seconds longer; the reveal of a minor misunderstanding suddenly has the power to torpedo an entire relationship. For some, the concept is so overused that it’s automatically linked with contrivance and bad writing—and no genre faces this criticism more than romance. That’s what makes Yuri is My Job! so refreshing. In the process of building a will-they-won’t-they story, it explores the gendered, neurotypical, and heteronormative expectations that are built into social interaction.

Himiko Toga bnha 391

Hi. Before the next chapters of bnha prove me wrong, I would like to talk about my headcanon and thoughts about Toga. I have a lot of feelings but I don't know if I'm going to explain myself well enough. The chapter is still not officially translated but some have given a rough translation of what happens. For the look of it Ochako has been able to reach Toga and is trying to talk to her, it look like she is validating her love for her friends but still say her love is not pure enough probably because of the negative feelings and her actions. That's why she can't use Shigaraki and Touya's Quirks. This doesn’t look like something Toga likes to hear but at the same time her disguise is starting to come apart so it might symbolize that the real her is going to come out and bare her soul. So maybe Ochako is reaching her.
