What if Ben just rises up, walks slowly over to Poe, places two fingers on his temple (despite Poe frailing his arms, going “hey, HEY?!”) and then he sees and feels EVERYTHING!!! 😱

Ben showing his inner most hurts, the betrayal of his family (namely his uncle and his new Jedi family not believing him) and of Snoke gaslighting him, his fear and how Ben fought the dark for years and still wanted to be good despite the horrible situation he couldn’t escape (source: Comic Rise Of Kylo Ren)
When Ben is finally done with show-and-tell of stuff he probably didn’t want to divulge to ANYONE, let alone a smug ass pilot who was his mommy’s favorite, Poe just staggers, tears rolling down his cheeks and then he rushes in to hug Ben to ease his pain just a little..
Perhaps the hug is too much to wish for but I would so so so much hope we get to see Poe really see and feel EVERYTHING. That would be so amazing 😄
Either way, if anyone hasn’t read this comic, you are lucky to have so much of the story already to read.

The Silenced Victims Meta
Similar to both Severus Snape and Ben Solo, Billy got the same narrative treatment of an abuse victim who didn’t “cope properly” being punished by no one giving a shit except that one “special person” bullshit and I hate it.
Because what a backhanded ass concept.
Harry for Severus: Harry is literally the only person alive who knows or cares about everything Severus did in the background for years to stop Voldemort. The only one who gave a shit about his own father’s bullying of Severus and showed to be disgusted with it.
Rey for Ben Solo: Again, the only person left alive who knows about Ben’s abuse by Snoke and him sacrificing his life for her. Hell, it’s not even known if Ray told anyone about it. She’s the only one who mourned his death (thanks novels) and saw him as a human and not a monster.
Max for Billy: Once again, only person that gives a shit that he’s dead (yeah know besides his abuser) only person that seems to care about his sacrifice. Oh, and let’s not forget the kick in the face line of “Your braver than you’re brother.” You know your brother who tried to fight off an interdimensional mind controlling monster for weeks alone. The one who sacrificed his life to stop it from, who knows taking over the world. But who cares about that, the writers clearly don’t.
So, have you guys noticed a fucked up pattern here?
Abuse victim who did not cope properly must sacrifice their life for some great or good, and even than what they did will never fully be recognized.
Even in death the narrative is still actively punishing them, by either lack of acknowledgement or their sacrifice being reduced. Similar to the very abuse they faced.
Notice something else these three all have in common? No support system. No one to turn to, no one to acknowledge their abuse, no one to help them. And yet this itself isn’t even acknowledged or even brought to attention in the story.
Now in the end am I saying all these writers planned this narrative? No
But am I pointing out how strangely common this formula is? Yes
Because it gives a message. Those who react badly to their abuse via anger or bad coping mechanisms deserve the bare minimum in storytelling.
They don’t get redemption arcs. You don’t get to see them heal, see them progress. Because they’re sacrifice was all they were in the end and even that won’t be acknowledged. Even in death they’re silenced once again.

I’ve raged and cried my eyes out after reading the Rise of Kylo Ren. To see the mental and physical abuse Ben Solo went through, with his own f’ing family never trusting him, never believing him… sounds familiar for so many ppl (myself included) 😖
But all WE apparently are worth in a movie is just getting killed off because they don’t know what to do with the victims of abuse. Like, what the hell!?!
I raged over this (albeit less eloquently as above) so I’m glad to see I wasn’t alone in this.
The same thing has now happened to “the freak” Munson and I have boycotted the show until I see a change. That I see they didn’t just kill off the outsider, the weirdo, the freak. That they didn’t just kill him because they didn’t know what to do with him.
Sigh. I’m just so … done with all of their shite, you know.
i think that at this point. at THIS point of Things. you can pretty safely assume that almost no one is Doing Well, so instead of being a real shitlord about tiny problems, maybe instead go out of your way to be kinder and more patient to everyone around you.

Man I hate when these purity kids try to take down ao3 because ao3 is about sharing and choices. You get to CHOOSE what you are comfortable with! A true safe place is about informed choices, not guidance designed to keep you ignorant.
I am very much against any philosophy whose reasoning is “sometimes people make bad choices” and the solution is “so we should take their choices away.”
I’m out of the loop on most things (I forget easily but mostly it’s to protect myself) but this is just plain ridiculous!
They would have to go all Karen on Tumblr, Twitter, Instagram (because you bet there is bound to be some thirst pics there too, encouraging for “dirty stuff”) not to mention the WHOLE FREAKING INTERNET!! There will ALWAYS be dirt because that’s how people are wired. “To be tempted” to speak their language, but billions are not following the pure ways and just as you cannot force people to do what YOU want to do (really now, you are not the king/queen of this world) you just have to accept that with supply and demand, there will always be such things. Succeed in taking a few sites down = more pop up before you can blink 🤷♀️ supply and demand!

On a different note: still haven’t watched the whole last episode on my Netflix. When I saw it with another (on their streaming) I bawled my eyes out before connecting the dots later on. I cannot make myself watch it before I know for sure he will come back. THATS how much he meant to people. So yeah, he is 1000% correct. We want Eddie back (and poor Chrissy deserved the world 💖)

This is so raw and beautiful.
I remember seeing this and remember I was like YES! Why the F couldn’t we even get a single tear in the movie, let alone the gut-wrenching, agonizing, Pull-my-heartstrings WAIL that was deserved from her. She f’ing lost her other half! The part that made her whole … but in the movie she’s all ‘la-de-da all happy together again’ - despite being more in tune with Ben than her friend-zone-stop-taking-my-hand Finn and the screaming matches she had with Poe. But nah, it’s the end of the movie, so we are all happy fell good and hugging everyone (and good lord, don’t even get me started on the Palpatine storyline 🤦♀️)

STRANGER THINGS HOPEFULLY FUTURE SPOILERS
Here’s my hopes/thoughts on season FIVE, where in the end of season 4 Eddie made a Jon Snow (and that’s why the others aren’t so devastated)

Since he grew up with his uncle, he doesn’t remember much from his childhood. Other than the kids bullied him with his buzz cut hair and the weird 010 tattoo on his wrist, he began growing out his hair and always wore a watch from then on out.
Come High School, his drug use makes his brain muddled and his “curse” dampen. It freaked him out to begin with, made him think he was loosing his mind. His cassette tapes beginning to float on its own. Perhaps a demon really had possessed him, or at least latched on to him to scare the living piss out of him.
It of course wasn’t all bad. Playing D&D he could make the dice turn the way he wanted. Creating a way more tense and exciting game for the others. Their fright and courage and then in the end an almost lost game turned to victory. It was glorious to see them cheer. That was what he loved the most.
Now, even if he lay dying as Henderson hobbles away to get to safety (good, hurry and get out of here before the monsters regain consciousness). The kid - closest thing to a brother he’d ever had - thinks he’s dead. His eyes are closed and his body so very tired, but in the end, he doesn’t regret a single thing… well, perhaps having the courage to ask Chrissy for a kiss, but other than that, he’s golden.
His chest hurt where they took bites out of him. Perhaps he shouldn’t have stayed clean for this mission to Mordor. Mordor sucks… and hurts. Perhaps with a few pills it would have hurt less. The demon’s back too, the magic all over him. A faint collection of childhood memories that couldn’t have been his begins to bubble up inside his mind. Kids all dressed in weird hospital clothes.
What is this? He tries to make the magic help him, tries to tap into it like the doctor tells him. “Use your powers, number 10. USE THEM!” He clinches his eyes tighter and tries to concentrate on these ‘powers’ instead of the pain. Something flows inside of him freely now, he feels how it’s knitting his skin together. His screams fill the red haze, his body reconstruction itself and he feels everything.
He still expects to die. There must still be monsters out there, but as he lays on the dirty asphalt, panting with exhaustion, the ground growls and trembles beneath him. Pillars of red bursts up from his uncles trailer and out far away, the skies burning red, frightening him to the core… and yet, he knows he needs to warn the others. Know he needs to get out of Mordor before the beasts come crawling.
On wobbly legs, he slowly drags his body over to the giant void now created. He hopes he can simply lets him self fall in, letting him return to the right side of the streets… The side where he is hunted for being a murderer… looking around, he hobbles back to his weapon and shield and begins the journey through Mordor.
Hunger and thirst has set in but there is nothing here he would dare try to eat. Surprisingly he didn’t encounter a single monster over his days of walking. Something or someone must have stopped it. Perhaps the girl they kids talked about. He allows himself a relieved smile. Good to know they all are safe now. Glancing at the giant ominous scar across the lands he shutters. Perhaps not that safe.
When he arrives at the old farmhouse fields, he is pretty sure he isn’t going to get captured by angry townies or the government as most wanted or something. He slips into the scar of red, birthed anew on the other side. Greeted with his fellowship conking running down the hill with a war cry, brandishing with wooden sticks and closed fists as weapons. A few short steps away they still the screaming, tossed the made up on the spot weapons and rushes to his side. A chuckle bubbles up from his dry throat. They probably thought he was one of the monsters but boy was he glad it’s was them who greeted him.
He smiles so much his cheeks hurt, looking up at their happy faces. “Anyone got a beer?”

Nevermind that writers can’t keep food on the table or a roof over their heads (so they can also keep writing, btw) if they aren’t getting paid.
No, no, what matters is YOU. You wanted it, felt entitled to it, made excuses to yourself and others to justify it, and then helped yourself to someone’s hardwork without intending to pay for it. AKA “theft.”
This isn’t some vigilante, anti-corporations BS. You don’t hurt corporations by doing this. You hurt authors. You hurt the author your stealing from. You hurt every author who gives up getting published because of this behavior. You hurt other authors who sees this happening, knowing you don’t give a rat’s ass about them only want to selfishly benefit from their labor. These are people who work hard, aren’t paid a living wage, and are practically begging just to be fairly compensated, yet people continue to exploit them and take their hardwork for themselves. (Slavery is coming to mind, is it doing that for anyone else? Make someone else do all the work while you reap the benefits and do absolutely nothing to earn it, including not paying them so they can pay bills and eat?).
You hurt people. You hurt the people you are stealing from. You are choosing to do that.
Stop blaming TikTok and Amazon. It’s PEOPLE who are choosing to do this to other people.
Meanwhile, you could have gone to the library or used their electronic resources. Y’all are some fucked up, selfish assholes. Treat others how you’d want to be treated. If a toddler can understand kindness and caring, so the fuck can you.
