Anime Recommendations

I got some asks about recommending anime series which are worth the watch and here are some I thought are amazing since I'm a very picky person lol with a very short summary 

(note that there are not ranked just listed and I just realized that all except for one are fantasy OTL seems like it I have a type 🤷🏻‍♀️)

Hamatora

You like Mystery? Comedy? Super Powers? Drama? Then this ones for you. very underrated anime somehow?? this one was my favorite anime back in 2014 or so. it got 2 seasons btw and the opening of the 2nd one is just👌👌

People with special powers are called Minimum Holders and the detective agency called Hamatora is composed of two dudes called Nice and Murasaki. The jobs that they begin to receive seem to have strange connections to the serial killer whom their friend cinnamon roll I mean Art who is a police officer, is searching for. The murder victims? They are all Minimum Holders.

Tenrou: Sirius the Jaeger

WHY ARE NO ONE TALKIN ABOUT THIS YALL IM- 

This one is currently on-going but one gets very hooked watching just the very first episode which is rare (for me??). 

It’s about "Jaegers" who carry musical instrument cases and came to hunt vampires. The protagonist Yuliy is a werewolf who had his home village destroyed by vampires. He and his crew engage in battle against the mysterious arc known as the “The Arc of Sirius.”

It may or may not sounds like a typical story line idk but don’t be fooled this anime is surprisingly very good you will immediately want to adopt the main character, there’s action and horror & supernatural elements and the art style of the anime is soooo good btw So do yourself the favor and watch this

Charlotte

First of all, there is no girl called Charlotte like I thought there would be. Second of all, that one is surprisingly a very interesting anime which I binge-watched in a night. It was that good. 

Charlotte takes place in a world where some kids have temporarily abilities and the protagonist Yuu can possess another person for 5 seconds and he uses this to cheat on to be a very smart student (basically doing something which we would all had done too come one) but gets exposed and had to forcefully transfer to a school for Pro-Ability-User because there are people who are hunting down ability users. Lastly, long story short some shit happens but its a very cool story and would recommend 10/10

Gekkan Shoujou Nozaki-kun

Idk why people think this is a very underrated anime like it was such a bomb like ¾ years ago but got little forgotten because sadly there is no new 2nd season. 

But for the ones who do not know gsnk or never watched it because of reasons, it’s about Sakura Chiyo who has fallen head over heels for the oblivious Nozaki Umetarou. A very oblivious Nozaki. He turns out to be a shoujo mangaka and some things happen and she becomes one of Nozaki’s manga assistant and he befriends many of her quirky schoolmates, including  Mikorin (cinnamon roll), Kashima Yuu (another cinnamon roll) and Seo Yuzuki (sinnamon roll). Gsnk is a very hilarious anime with a lot of ships too.

Assassination Classroom

This. Fucking. Anime. I’m a very cold person but this one even melted my heart??? I’m just still not over this anime. Ok so they try to kill off their teacher, a mysterious creature who choped the moon down to a permanent crescent. The students find themselves confronted with an enormous task: to assassinate the creature responsible for the disaster before the Earth turns out the same like the moon. Furthermore, the students soon find that the strange, tentacled beast is more than just indomitable—he is the best teacher they have ever had. Like no joke I wish he was my teacher. Would recommend this one 100/10

Bungou Stray Dogs

Detectives? Check. Mafias? Check. Supernatural abilities? Double Check. Atsushi gets kicked out of the orphanage and while starving on a riverbank, he saves a suicidal man called Dazai from drowning. Turns out that Dazai is a detective and some things happen and Atsushi is coerced into joining their firm of supernatural investigators, taking on unusual cases the police cannot handle. This anime has 2 seasons, a movie and they announced the 3th season. 

Fate/Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works

would you believe me when I tell you that I rewatch this ¾ times ?? I rarely rewatch something but this one is so good and archer 👌👌👌

ok coming back to the topic this one is my favorite fate series for several reasons you can watch the others too but this one is hands down the best. Sorry but drop everything to watch this you will not regret it. Tohsaka Rin is a magi and enters a war where magis fight with their servants against other magis and their servants. Basically everyone against everyone. With her Servant, Archer, she hopes to obtain the ultimate prize—the Holy Grail, a magical artifact capable of granting its wielder any wish.

Ajin

Mysterious immortal humans are known as “Ajin” and whenever an Ajin is found within society, they are to be arrested and taken into custody immediately. Our main boy called Nagai Kei is a high schooler and survives an accident and becomes an Ajin. He finds himself alone on the run from the entire world.

This one got an unique art style as well  and looks this one is an ajin

Nurarihyon no Mago another underrated anime 

Part-time student, part time yokai

Rikuo Nura is a quarter youkai, and Nurarihyon, his grandfather, is insistent that he takes over as head of the Nura Clan even tough he doesn’t want to.

Long story short life is not easy when you’re Nurarihyon’s grandson. 

With other words his yokai form, his father and his grandfather (when he was younger) are hotter than you ever will be. Period.

That transition tho I’m dead

Thats it and I know there are others which I did not include in this because I think they are already that well known like Tokyo Ghoul, Attack on Titan, Akatsuki no Yona, Boku no Hero Academia, Durarara, Fairy Tail, Kamisama Kiss, Erased, Gintama and so one. This is just a list for some forgotten or underrated anime.

Squish! That! Cat!

I considered myself to be well versed on cats/communicating with cats. I’ve lived with at least two cats my whole life, and currently live with two very different cats who I love. Apparently most cats are shoulder cats? My cat Mason has always been very nervous about going up on people’s shoulders, so I thought I’d try the “shoulder cat” technique.

I had to help him up on my shoulders because he’s never done it himself before. But once I got him up there I squished him, he started purring like nobody’s business. I carried him around our entire apartment, up and down staircases, and he was so happy. He didn’t try to leave once! When I put him down he head butted me and meowed and was super affectionate. And of course I gave him a treat.

TLDR- Even if you live with cats and think you understand cats, please watch this video.

I was in line at Aldi and this girl with two toddlers in front of me had her card declined and she looked so fucking sad and said “let me call my husband real quick” and it was only 18 dollars, so I just paid for it, and she was very sweet and then as she walked off, the lady behind me said `”You know that was probably a scam, right?” and like, even if it was, like what a sad fucking scam, right? 18 dollars at the Aldi. If you’re “scamming” me for some Tyson chicken and apple juice and cauliflower, then just take my fucking money. 

“A scam” people are fucking wild.  

This happened to me, too. A woman had used WIC for the majority of her stuff (which I say from personal experience is such a long and embarrassing process) and to buy the remainder of her groceries, which included diapers and wipes, she used a card, and it got declined. I bought the other $30 of her groceries because hey, I’ve been there, and now I’m not. She was extremely emotional and began to cry and even hugged me. My mom called me on the drive home and could tell I had been crying myself, asked what was wrong, and when I told her what happened, she berated me for being “duped.” I couldn’t believe she could be so disappointed in one of her children for doing something- nice? Is that the hill you want to die on? Getting mad about people needing groceries?

I once paid for a woman’s bill at the vet…it wasn’t a big one, but she was trying to pay for some medication for her dog, and her card was declined. And her lip started trembling, and she says “I don’t get paid until Tuesday, would he be ok until then?” 

So I just told them to add the $20 something onto my bill, and I thought she was going to break down crying right there.

And I don’t care if it was a scam or not. Just do nice things for people sometimes. 

Do good recklessly.

I think “Do good recklessly” would be fantastic word art to hang on one’s wall. Artistic people, go!

So this has happened to me but from the other side. Several years ago when my oldest was around three or so, I had my debit card decline at Walmart. It wasn’t a scam or a mistake, I was genuinely broke. Out of money. I checked my bank and discovered I had something like 7 dollars left to my name and a hungry kid and nothing to eat at home. So I sat there trying to come up with the best way to stretch that tiny amount of money to feed my kid. Not even to feed me. I can live on popcorn or something if I have to but my kid was three and he had to eat. So there I am trying really hard not to cry while I slowly take things out of my basket to get it down to under 7 bucks, when a lady tapped me on the shoulder. I looked up and she smiled at me and started putting the things back in my cart. I opened my mouth to tell her that I didn’t have the money for them but she stopped me right away and said “Don’t worry about it. It’s gonna be fine.” Then she handed the cashier her credit card and said “Ring up all of it.” My kid got to eat because of her. I got to eat because of her. I had laundry soap and deodorant because of her. She could’ve just ignored me silently struggling in that line. She could’ve decided I was a scam and gone home feeling good about avoiding being duped. But instead she chose to help me and she saved us. So maybe the person struggling in front of you is trying to put one over on you or maybe they are just sad and broke and trying to figure out what to do. You get to decide which you want to believe and what you want to do. But I’ll tell y’all, no one has ever been more beautiful to me than that lady in that line who saved me and my baby. Be like her. Be beautiful.

DO GOOD RECKLESSLY

One time, my dad and I were living the grocery store and there was a guy outside asking for money to buy some stuff to take home for his kids. It was around Christmas time. My dad asked him if he could give him groceries instead of money, and the guy immediately said yes, so my dad gave him one of everything we bought (meat, rice, some chocolates, milk, oil). At that time, my dad hadn’t gotten his paycheck because the company he worked for was going through a tough time, but he didn’t care, he saw an opportunity to help someone and he did.

Another time, my dad gave 50 bucks to a guy who said he needed to buy medicine for his kids. I told my dad he was probably going to spend the money on alcohol or something, but my dad said that “whether he was lying or not says something about HIS character, but hearing someone in need and choosing not to help when I have the means to says something about mine”.

I never forget that.

I have tinnitus ranging from just-there to unbearably-loud (particularly when I’m trying to sleep) and this site probably saved my life (I have no clue how I’d cope without it when it’s bad). It’s brilliant even when my tinnitus is just-there, for setting scenes writing, or for tuning out the noisy building site across from my home, and I can’t recommend it enough. dudes in their 20s who try to talk to high school girls are losers

girls please think about why these guys cant get girls their own age please. its not because they’re sweet or misunderstood, its because they’re damn loser scumbag babies who cant attract anyone who knows better.

Dudes in their 20s go for high school girls because it sets up a power imbalance, AND THEY KNOW IT. They 100% know it. There is a fucking reason adult women won’t go near them. Protect highschool girls.

I remember being in middle school during a pep rally when a speaker went up to the podium and started talking about high schoolers and adults trying to hit on girls our age. He touched on several points that get talked about a lot on here, and the audience’s response was lukewarm, which is normal since children rarely like being lectured about anything, least of all topics that make them feel like theyre being condescended to. But there was one point he made (related to a study) that I’ll never forget, because it was the one statement that finally made this crowd of middle schoolers erupt with disgust:

“When these older guys were interviewed about why they were going after younger girls, do you know what the number one response was? ‘Because they’re easy.’”

Adults and older teens who flirt with children do not do so because they think they’re mature, they go after them because they know they’re immature enough to fall for a one-sided trap.

doesn’t matter the gender, if someone significantly older than you is trying to get you to date them (especially if you’re a teen or young adult) it’s almost certainly a red flag
