tag yourself~

tulip- broke af, unhealthy binge watching, study groups, laughs at their own jokes, stressed 24/7, just wants to have a good time

rose- very thoughtful, has a sweet tooth, gives a lot of compliments, messy room, forgets things easily, stares at strangers’ dogs

sunflower- takes too many naps, spontaneous personality, almost always listening to music, good at solving problems, too many apps

daisy- bad at time management, easy to get along with, cares about the environment, has unpopular opinions, types quickly

lavender- sarcastic voice, seems normal but is actually really weird, good at lightening the mood, bad eyesight, enjoys being alone

god, imagine sharing a bed with the person you love. chatting about dumb things! just sleeping! it’s like a sleepover but every night how sweet is that!!!!

tell yourself you’re hot. tell yourself you’re amazing. tell yourself you’re untouchably, radiantly attractive. do it every day, even if it feels like you’re lying to yourself. insist to the mirror that you’re the cutest thing its ever reflected. if you do it enough eventually it wont feel like lying anymore, it’ll be automatic, and you’ll recognize yourself as the incredible babe you really are.

We had a lot of rain this winter, more than what we’re used to. It brought water back to our waterfalls and flowers back to our hills. Southern California is covered in wildflowers. (taniainnature)

you belong somewhere. one day, in some place (probably unknown to you now), you will feel at home. you will feel loved. you will feel like you belong, which is what you have been waiting for. it is coming please don’t worry about it too hard right now. when you are there you will know. i love you, you will feel at home soon.

art is so beautiful. fashion, music, film, literature. it’s so personal and incredible and i want to dedicate my life to it

something i wish i had realized earlier: you can write poems on the same subject more than once. you can write, paint, draw the same thing over and over if you want to. you can spend your whole life making art about oranges. i think i always felt this pressure to get it right the first time like i couldn’t go back and use that inspiration again. but you can. you can go back and revisit it. you can pick up the conversation again and again if you have more to say.

National Geographic on Facebook: this is a facial reconstruction of a teenage girl who lived 9000 years ago based on her remains!

half the comments: men criticizing her looks and saying she’s unattractive and mannish

anyway this is the reconstruction and I always enjoy seeing the faces of prehistoric humans and how much we have in common over thousands of years despite how incredibly different our lives are. I support her and I think she looks wonderful.

everyone in the replies of this post saying “well I think she’s pretty!” missed the whole damn point lmao

I remember watching a documentary once where historians were trying to work out who a dead girl was and what her life was like. I’m pretty sure they dated the body back to the early Victorian era, and established pretty early on that she lived in poverty, died young, and was most certainly a prostitute.

The grand finale of the show was the reveal of her reconstructed face. Now, bare in mind that through their investigations they discovered that she had lived an awful life and died an agonizing death (syphilis iirc). So, you can imagine my disgust when the historians reacted with disappointment at the reveal of her ‘face’. This poor girl, who had suffered terribly, was obviously not the poor, tragic beauty they had been hoping for.

She was plain, maybe some would say she was ugly, but what was truly hideous was the fact that you could practically see the sympathy these historians had for this poor girl slip away as they looked at her ‘face’, and you could certainly hear it in their voices.

Even in death our value rests on the basis of our looks. Sympathy is conditional - based on where you fall on the looks scale.

Science: *gives us the miracle of seeing long-dead faces*

Men:

For everyone who doesn’t know yet. There has been already 4 days without power in Venezuela. Simultaneous blackouts are occurring throughout the country that are taking many lives. This is not because of a natural disaster, this is because THE LACK OF MAINTENANCE OF OUR MAIN SOURCE OF ENERGY DUE TO THE GOVERNMENT STEALING ALL THE MONEY THAT WAS DIRECTED FOR IT.

In some places of the country the power comes and goes for a few hours a day and in others (like Caracas) the power has been out for 4 days straight, loosing food, services like water AND LIVES!

Many of us have no idea how our family in those places are due to cellphone signal being non-existent since thursday afternoon.

I’m pretty upset right now, not being able to work, not having cash in case of emergency because most bank platforms are not working or are very slow, not being able to communicate with my sisters, afraid when it gets dark and i can’t see anything in front of me, with family outside of the country crazy worried for not knowing anything or being able to do something.

While the governmet people have electric generators, nurses and doctors have to manually pump oxigen to their patients, the few chemotherapy treatments there is are going bad for lack of refrigeration and people who need dialysis won’t be able to receive it.

Venezuela is dying more painfully and faster everyday since 1998.

Quick note: while i was writing this there was a electricity downturn.
