I realise I should probably write up a primer post for my Tudors OT3 and associated universe for people who are interested. So um, have a post that attempts to get it in order. Firstly OT3: political power trio is their tumblr tag. Secondly I’ve put the fic under a read more in chronological order and then I’ll make a suggested reading order at the end. how can ppl say cats are heartless tbh

I once stayed at a game reserve in South Africa, and they had three cheetahs – two males and one female. The boys stuck together (they were brothers), but female cheetahs are solitary, save for when they are raising cubs. Which is hard work for cheetahs, because they don’t/can’t den, she’s working constantly to protect/move her cubs, as well as feeding both them and herself.

Now, these cheetahs ARE in a private reserve, but they’re still essentially wild. But they are more or less accustomed to the presence of people. And this cheetah, Ketswiri, got very badly injured in her leg one time, which usually would be fatal to a cheetah. The staff at the reserve helped her. Another time, she was starving, and they provided her a fresh antelope carcass. And she remembered this, because the science officer was telling us how one time he was watching Ketswiri and her cubs, and she wandered over and dumped all her cubs at his feet, and walked off. Like “watch my kids, I need some me time.” And he was panicking like COME BACK I CAN’T BABYSIT YOUR KIDS WTF

Half of the comments are about cats giving birth on top of or next to their owners and I’m not crying at all

it’s so funny though because domesticated cats are aggressively social in raising their young so basically op’s cat was like bitch these are your kids too, where tf you think you’re going???

As a person with cats who has given birth, they are also this way about *your* kids. My cat spent my whole pregnancy snuggled up to me, and then as soon as my daughter was born, he was always where she was. He was super protective of her when new people came over. Whenever we had to take her out for a doctor’s appointment, he waited by the door and sniffed her carseat when we brought her back. Cats are intensely social and it’s so wonderful 🥰

I want to share that while yes, I am writing an AU of an AU with a lot of trauma it does also contain really sweet Thomas/Mihrimah. Okay Mihrimah will be coldly contemplating destroying people (and actually might) but like they are so soft and sweet together! Mental Image (except they are actually in bed together at this point I kind of want to share a snippet)

A thing I have discovered planning out this prompt response in my head: Tommy calls Mihrimah his sun queen (among other things) and Mihrimah compares Tommy to a spring dawn - a soft beautiful kind light over a garden in bloom because they are That Couple.

Except Mihrimah is the incredibly dangerous she goes ice cold protective will make you wish you’d never even thought of existing one as well.

One of my saatis (thank you so much @star-anise <3)gave me some lovely ideas re The Tudors OT3 Cinematic Universe so I thought I’d babble about them. 

So @jkthinkythoughts asked about how/why the English Civil War started in my Tudors OT3 Universe and I can totally talk about this one. There’s some information on my pinned post and I’ll reblog those as well but basically:

Thomas and Mihrimah were Iconic. Once in an eternity rulers. Various things came together that meant they were as perfect/amazing as they were and then their son Turhan (Thomas II) was also great but…it was harder for him, the biracial followed his mothers faith King. He actually married Joan, the daughter of Mary Queen Of Scots and because Thomas and Mihrimah essentially got England out of Scotland, Ireland and Wales entirely (and paid compensation from their own funds) it means that Scotland is definitely an independent kingdom and Turhan is Prince Consort there. 

Turhan and Joan’s oldest daughter becomes Queen Mary (Miriam) II of Scotland. 

There are whisperings about the changes Thomas and Mihrimah make and things do happen but they really start in Turhan’s reign. And then it goes on and becomes louder. About how Not White, Not Christian the royal family has become. About how there are Jews and Muslims and…in England. About how there is no imperialism, no ‘glory of empire’ and how people are being penalised for trying to make one by like jail. 

So we get to Henry VIII’s great great (I think that’s enough greats!) grandson Arthur (Jahan) II (I call him Arthur II because of the Tudor Arthurian Fandom Thing). His first child is a daughter and he decrees that she’s going to be the heir regardless of any brothers born afterwards. The royal family takes the final steps to expand representative democracy. Also the eventual restoration king’s son, his sons friends and his father are jailed for a failed attempt to colonise North America. They rebel at all of the above (it is possible that I a biracial jewish etc woman am Having Some Feelings). Arthur is eventually beheaded, there’s a Restoration King for the same time Oliver Cromwell ruled and then..Arthur’s daughter Charlotte Askala is invited back. 

The thing about Mihrimah in my OT3 verse is that if someone hurt Thomas in any way it’s, she is not the feral covered in blood wife. I mean she’s covered in blood but she’s coldly, methodically, merciless vengeance. She is the epitome of ‘you took him from me’ if someone tried to tell her that Thomas wouldn’t want her to do this (he wouldn’t but). If someone tried to blame her for it in some way she would laugh in their face because Fuck You No It’s On You. She will take you apart and you will not see it coming. Ever. She would destroy the world if someone took Thomas from her but she’d do it methodically and supremely competently.

On the other hand Rosalind is the Feral Wife Covered In Blood.
