Fic Writers Appreciation Day (just a little bit late!)
I was going to do a fic rec post, and then I figured I was going to end up reccing like five things per author for like all these authors here, and figured I would pare it down to some of the things I like best about their writing, and the way they interact with their readers in other ways. These are all stunning writers. I am lucky enough to call several of them my friends; others, I admire from afar. To every writer out there: you are doing something amazing, and I applaud you so hard for doing what you do. It’s hard but it really is worth it, and you all contribute so much to your various fandoms. Thank you a thousand times over.
Under the cut for length, because this is pretty long; and there is no particular order to this. I’ve linked both to tumblr and AO3 or Fanfiction dot net pages, and specified fandoms they write for prominently (and for the fandoms I’m in, characters/pairings the writers write a lot of).

One time in high school I was waiting to talk to the Vice Principal and this other kid came in and sat down next to me. He said “What are you in for?” And I said “Oh, they just want to know if it’s cool if I miss my classes tomorrow to run sound and lights for a presentation in the auditorium. What are you in for?” and he said that he stabbed a kid with a screwdriver. I told him we led very different lives and he agreed.
