the abstract he saw ; k. jongdae

— yandere au, slight mature — he couldn’t put it in words, you were like an abstract to him.

His eyes scanned the crowd before him, lips pursed in a fine line as he sharply addressed each person he passed by with a nod. He was used to the lingering strong perfumes women spray on themselves and expensive french red wines. He was pressed up amidst petite women who let out soft giggles that only sickened him. He couldn’t just leave this huge party, not until he meets every single person in the room. Not until he finds someone that would suit his taste.

“Would you like to dance?” A women with confidence strode up to him bravely with a grin on her face, her thick hair brushing down past her shoulders as she gave him a lingering stare. A stare like how a predator would give to its victim.

He couldn’t decipher why he couldn’t decline her inviting offer. Which is why he gladly took her hand and led her to the middle of the room where couples danced. He rested his hand on her waist and gave her a cat like smile, a smile that would give people creepy vibes. Then he left her hanging in the middle of the room, her mouth opened agape as she desperately called for his name. He ignored her pleas and headed to the balcony to breath some fresh air.

He walked past by a waiter and he took a glass of wine from the tray, muttering a low thank you to the waiter as he passed by. Once he reached the balcony he noticed that there were only a few people standing, star gazing up to the sky. And he couldn’t help but land his gaze on you. Standing alone with an almost empty glass of wine on your hand, he cocked his head to the side as he headed towards your way.

“Beautiful isn’t it?” You were startled by his presence, confused as to why a stranger would talk to you. But nonetheless, you gave him a slight nod. He chuckled, seeing the surprised look on your face then turning his body to face your direction.

“It’s almost midnight, you should go home. On second thought, no, let me take you home.” He coughed, and you raised an eyebrow at him. Taking the last drops of wine on your glass, you emptied it and gave him a loud laugh.

“No.”

His smile faltered when he heard the straight rejection from you. You shook your head and turned your head to look at the sky, placing the empty glass in his hands before sighing. “I don’t let strangers take me home.”

A few minutes passed and all Jongdae could do was let thoughts cross his mind a thousand times. He almost laughed to himself when he realized you were similar to something he was dear with. He loved painting, and he realized once again that you were like an abstract. Quite unpredictable and full of surprises. You seemed cold on the outside, but once you’re an open book, full of surprises comes upon.

It took him a moment to respond. “I applaud you.” Was his mere response to you, making you turn to him with a look on your face.

“To flatter you; I find that you telling me a straight no quite amusing. You have dignity and I like that.” He left you wondering with your thoughts as you stared ahead of you. But then he stopped in his tracks before turning his head slightly to the side, “Stay there for a bit, I’m gonna get us more drinks.” Then he left completely.

He was a man you knew sparked your interests and without a doubt, you were bound to find out more about his mysterious self. He returned back with two glasses of wine, a smile on his face as he handed you a more slightly reddish red wine. His smile grew even more when you glanced at him and thanked him before taking a huge sip from the glass.

His free hand left his side to rest it down on your waist as he yanked you softly to his side. “Is this a different brand of wine? It tastes more sweet, too sweet.” He only laughed, shaking his head as he watched you empty out the glass with the wine he put drugs on.

5 minutes haven’t passed and you were clearly far from being sober and it made his smile more sharper. Your words were slurring and your vision was blurring, it almost seemed like you were drunk. He rested his arm around your waist the whole time he led you out the party, getting a nod from people like him he boasted.

He took a taxi ride to his house and once you two got off he paid the driver and slammed the door loudly then forcefully led you inside the large mansion. A maid bowed her head as she opened and another maid opened the gates for him. He took advantage of the fact that you were nothing but a drunken woman who he knew clearly sparked his interests; he plans on never letting you go. He knew women like you were rare, and he was quite lucky he found you.

He took you to his room and led you to the bed before placing your figure on the soft mattress, covering you with the comforter he gave you a smile once again, bidding you a good night before leaving the room and locking the door behind him.

The morning came and you opened your eyes, adjusting your sight to the bright surroundings around you. You came to the conclusion that you weren’t in your own home and you were in a stranger’s house. A rich stranger’s home.

You quickly stood up and rushed to the door, only to find out that it was locked and there was no other place to escape. Panic rose up and you paced around the room, your footsteps creating loud noises. Jongdae heard shuffling from his room, even one of his maids told him so.

“She woke up early.” He mumbled, while walking up to his room. He unlocked the door only to be sighted with you looking frustrated as ever.

“Who are you?” You narrowed your eyebrows at him, making sure to leave a long distance from him. A creepy smirk crawled its way on his face as he let out a laugh.

“I’m Jongdae, and you? You are my precious abstract.” He approached you and circled your figure. You only stayed silent as you warily watched him, waiting for his next moves.

“Abstract? What the fuck are you talking about?” You shouted, unamused with his answer as you gave him a glare.

He cocked his head to the side, pretending to think. “I don’t know, hm, you are very full of surprises and rare.” He watched the color drain out of your face as you gave him a horrified look.

He began moving towards you, making you back up until your back reached the wall. He wasn’t really tall but he was intimidating and mysterious, but you couldn’t help but mentally admit you were alone in the same room with a very attractive person. He kept a smirk on his face, and soon after, he slammed his hand on the wall right a few inches beside your head, he merely laughed at your surprised reaction. Your eyes widened when you noticed his head dipping in closer to your face, your heartbeat’s pace increasing. You avoided his gaze, biting the inside of your cheek as you felt his breath on your neck, then you jumped, startled by the soft lips pressed up on your neck. “My little abstract, I’m keeping you forever with me.”

Alright, so on the left is a picture of me, and on the right, Kai. I have had insicurities about my skin color since as long as I can remember caring. I have hated my dark skin and wanted to be lighter, to be fair skinned, and so i can only imagine the struggle Kai goes through. In Korea, where pale skin is an even more relevant beauty standard, being dark skinned, especially as an idol must be hard. Since he’s confident in his skin, I am so inspired to be confident in mine too! He’s about as dark as me, and I’m not as pressured to be pale as he is, and he still stays strong, I am so proud of him.
