Summer Preorders on Amazon

I’ve recently delved into the world of MH preorders and release dates. I’ve read forums of people speculating when the new waves are coming out, posting photos from the deep corners of the internet. I’ve read enough to know that I absolutely NEED Isi Dawndancer when she comes out, sometime in August. For now, I’ll share with you the dolls that actually have photos in the listings.

Right now, these dolls are on preorder through Lloyd’s Toys, and you’ll have to pay arund $7 shipping. I’ve got my eye on the Amazon preorders, waiting for the day when I can readily order them with Prime, and skip the shipping fee.

  1. Scare and Makeup
  2. Freak du Chic Clawdeen
  3. Freak du Chic Twyla
  4. Wheelin’ Werecats
  5. Fangin’ at the Mall

They all have the same release date listed on Amazon, July 27-August 11.

The 5-Pack, and FDC Clawdeen & Twyla will be store exclusives for sure, so doubt they’ll ever be available direct from Amazon. I don’t have concrete info, but I believe Scare & Makeup and the Werecat 2-Pack will be as well.

Hello, great source of monster high info! a random question, i know that "signature" dolls are a hard thing to determine after all the series and stuff that's been coming out but, in your personal opinion, or that you know of, would you consider the "Art class" assortment a new wave/signature of the doll the assortment includes? (Abbey, Robecca, Skelita, Draculaura)

The Signature dolls usually are connected to the Core assortment number. That assortment number currently belongs to Monster Exchange, but has never been connected to Art Class. Once they started using the movies to introduce characters (in their signature looks), they started theme-ing the core assortments (Picture Day / New Scaremester / Monster Exchange) - so those would be what I consider new “signature” looks.

So what's the situation with Haunted Spectra the movies out and even haunted Rochele but there isn't any sign yet of her except in other countries. Any insight?

No facts, but she seems to be a late add to the assortment (think Rollermaze Clawdeen and Skull Shores Draculaura). With the playset being dropped, apparently, there likely was some sort of shuffle. I would assume it’s just a matter of time.

Did Robecca end up having a Ghouls Alive doll released? If so, do you know when?

She was late to the assortment, however the only stores I heard of carrying the 2nd wave within the US was WalMart - but not long enough to receive shipments with Robecca. She only made it out Internationally, it seems.

Though you don't post leaks, have you noticed any pattern regarding leaked images>>official ones? Like let's say today a new, never-before-seen doll is leaked. Whenabouts could we expect a more "official" reveal, and about how far ahead of release would we be?

The only pattern is that there are 2 seasons in the toy world. Spring, and Fall. Also typically, at least with Monster High - Spring items start showing up in Winter (and hit full distribution by Spring), and Fall items start showing up in Summer (and hit full distribution by Fall).

The store exclusives tend to show up at stores a couple months after the mainline releases, though that's not always the case. Fall often has more exclusives - because it's expected that all of those items will be on shelves for the holiday shopping season.

Boo York, Freak du Chic, and all the recent survey leaks are part of Fall 2015. Meaning you likely won't be seeing any of them till around May.

November/May tend to be sweet spots for the first releases to show up each season, but because toys don't have hard release dates (most of the time), it could go either way.
