Like. Glad people are finally jumping shark for real, but this was always gonna be how this turned out, if not for this reason, then some other. Nobody's coming to save the shitty bird website, it was dead the moment the muskrat bought it. Better to make your new homes now instead of holding out for a miracle- it ain't coming.
I know I don’t sound particularly sympathetic about this, but I’ll be honest, it frustrates me how, with how telegraphed, how inevitable this course of action was, people still chose to put their heads in the sand and act like there would be some last-minute salvation, even as things got worse and worse.
And yeah, I get it, folks have their fanbase there, or do business there- but if the ship is sinking, you need to make contingency plans before you’re underwater, not wait until it’s up to your neck. I look at people who could have started to rebuild elsewhere before it got to this point, now lost and confused and scrambling, and of course I want them to find their footing- but it concerns me greatly that this is how people address a slow-moving catastrophe.
It’s how people all throughout history have gotten away with so much worse.
