There are whispers of a resentful spirit that roams the waters of Yunmeng.

They say that it comes out with sundown and hides when the sun rises. They say it plays a haunting tune on the dízi, and that the bodies of the drowned follow in its wake. They say that the last thing you hear is the scraping of nails against the side of your boat.They say that the last thing you’ll see is a pair of red eyes glowing like coal in water as dark as the finest ink.

They say that the only way to survive the journey is to hold a silver bell of the Yunmeng Jiang.
