people who genuinely care about you won’t make you feel like you’re overreacting or doing things for attention when you express your feelings
Hidden inside statements like "you can do everything you put your mind to", "you have no limits" and "you can achieve everything you work for" is the message that it must be your own fault if you don't/can't. That's why it's important to challenge toxic positivity. That's why it's important to swallow the fact that not everything is within our control.
Friendly reminder that if you are mentally ill or neurodiverse in some way and can’t work: it’s not your fault. You are not a failure or less worthy than people who work. The workplace is inherently ableist and tends not to accommodate people with mental health conditions of any kind and it is not your fault that it is this way or that your condition makes it harder for you to work than someone who doesn’t have it.
needing therapy isn’t a weakness. there’s so much strength in seeking the help you need to get better and be better.
Remember that even good changes can make us feel depressed, because, as creatures of habit, we're resistant to change. That doesn't mean that it wasn't the right choice.
here’s your valentines day reminder that platonic love is just as important as romantic love!!!
