I don't really know how high jump works, but I just saw two athletes who were in a dead-heat after many, many jumps decide to share the gold medal instead of continuing to compete for a tie-breaker, and their shared joy absolutely stole my heart:

Not to free-associate to another of my mum’s fave bands or anything, but this is also why I lose my mind over ABBA’s The Winner Takes It All. Björn, recently divorced, writes a song about a divorce with his writing partner Benny, then records it with his recent ex-wife Agnetha singing lead vocals.
Even if you believe them when they say it’s not about their divorce specifically, that’s a wild as fuck thing to choose to do.

We Shouldn’t Have To Be Tolerated
Sick and tired of hearing that LGBTQIA+ people have to feel grateful when our family accepts us. We shouldn’t have to be accepted by anyone, no one is better or superior just because they’re straight or cis and that’s what i always feel like they’re telling us in the media and in our personal lives, that we have to fight to be accepted because we’re not normal and we should be so lucky if the straights accept us…
I know it can be a process for a lot of parents and a lot of us probably long to hear the words “i accept you”, and i understand that, but i can’t help but think of how patronizing it all is.
