Sometimes your stupid heart peaks out of the deep dark hole you’ve dug out for it. It seeks for freedom and it gets a taste. And then you get the ache. The ache of a thousand dying men all at one time. The ache that you were too stubborn to be there for people. That you’re the reason some things happened and you didn’t realize it soon enough. I always seem to be rushed. Rushed to leave- voices always trailing behind me. Alone I walk; head down, finding my feet interesting. Then- people around me- head up, confidence larger than you've ever seen prior.
