Well, I’m opening commissions again ;3; !!

This month I get to finish my final paperwork before getting my 1st residence! I have to pay for it, and some other things along the way too (and my current job pays me so little just yet ack!)

Just received news that kids 18 years and younger in my state can possibly get an abortion now without their parents’s consent and I feel very sad for these children.

That’s amazing. I’m glad that people are being given more freedom to make their own reproductive choices.

I hope I didn’t come across wrong but I am not for this at all. Kids 18 and younger shouldn’t even be thinking about an abortion. That’s not freedom. This is an atrocity.

So if they end up pregnant, they should just stay pregnant as their only option? 

-sigh- okay one thing most pro-choicers are missing is that abortion is not a good way.

After pregancy, there are many options on the next steps. And please don’t give me the ‘mother could die’ argument. This argument has been lectured to me many times and I get it. The concern for the mother is real.

But after pregnancy, there are many options. Adoption is one of them. Adoption is also very beneficial to many. People who cannot get pregnant have a chance to raise a family. Not only adoption, but help can also be hired to assist in raising a child, along with relatives.

So yes, I believe they should.

And, I know this is an unpopular viewpoint, but the truth is that if children under 18 practiced abstinence until marriage and chastity, maybe there wouldn’t be pregnancies to worry about.

This is one of the most ignorant, uneducated things I’ve ever seen.  We’ll toss aside the fact that rape and incest happen.  I’m really hoping you aren’t suggesting any woman who gets raped, well it’s her fault she isn’t pure anymore.

The thing is, kids need decent sex ed.  Because sex. is. going. to. happen. And parents can’t be counted on to teach it to them.  

They need comprehensive education on sex, how to prevent pregnancy, and access as well as education on birth control and condom use.  Not to mention lessons on consent and how to deal with rejection and respect the word ‘no’.

This whole ‘abstinence only!’ bullshit is religious dogma painted as some kind of one true way.  

Funny how countries who do this shit? See a drop in teen pregnancy and abortion.  

But apparently we don’t have time for logic around here.

{tuesday troubles} How not to cause (more) drama for yourself

I got an ask giving some good advice, but I wanted to generalize it more. I’ve already written an article about why people that find themselves frequently in drama are often the ones that cause it.

Sometimes, you cannot control getting into a conflict and when and how you resolve it may be out of your hands. But if you do not want drama/conflict in your life, do not give it an environment or agitate it. Meaning, do not generate more conflict for yourself by engaging in negative actions that continue to perpetuate your predicament.

Here are some tips for how to do this:

- Realize that you have more power than you think in regard to what conflicts you might be in. - Do not gossip or spread rumors. - Do not deal with your conflicts in a public forum or space. - Treating venting as a way to get things off your chest, not keep yourself wrapped up in your conflict or pull others into it. Vent a few times, then start the process of moving on. - Seek empathy and advice from those you vent to, not instigation. - Search for solutions and resolutions rather than just continually complaining about the problem. - Let the negative things go, especially if they are people. - Know that you will be emotionally and even physically healthier for ridding yourself of the drama/conflict.
