please forgive yourself for the things you did when you were at your worst. those moments don’t define you. please try to have compassion for your younger self. you’re not broken or toxic; you were afraid, exhausted, alone and needed a hug. I’m sorry if people led you to believe that you’re a horrible person from the things you did when you were at rock-bottom.
remember the good things that grow in your heart. beneath the protective walls you built and the sadness and mistrust from painful experiences, you are still your sweet, kind, caring, lovable self. you still try your best. you still want to be good. you still want to help. you still want to believe there’s more to this world. you have a good heart. you deserve genuine love. please don’t forget that.
