Friendly reminder

THAT VEXEN WAS GOING TO TELL SORA EVERYTHING ABOUT MARLUXIA’S PLAN AND SEEMED GENUINELY DISAPPOINTED THAT SORA WASN’T LISTENING TO HIM.

AND THAT HE BEGGED TO KEEP HIS LIFE BEFORE HE WAS MURDERED.

But it’s cool, y'all can keep hating him because he’s ‘ugly’ and ‘useless’

Context: the party is traversing a mountain pass in a blizzard a la Lord of the Rings scene. DM has everyone roll the dice to see if they don’t fall down the cliff, and dwarf warrior in heavy plate armor fails the check.

DM: Heavy gust of wind pushed you off the path. You slip and fall off the cliff. What do you do?

Dwarf: I flap my arms really really hard.

DM: Seriously?

Dwarf: it’s not like I got better options.

DM: ok, roll the dice.

Dwarf rolls natural 20.

DM: …

Party: …

DM: roll again.

Dwarf rolls another 20.

DM: …!

Party: …?!

DM: …sigh. With astonished look on their faces, the party behold a most miraculous sight. A dwarf in heavy armor is slowly rising up in the air above the cliff edge by flapping his arms really really fucking hard.

Be a nice DM!

- Learn all of their names and their characters well. - Be available for any questions or concerns. - Don’t get defensive if they have an issue with something you’ve done. - Listen to what they say in-character, study them well. - Listen to what they say out-of-character, and learn what their preferences are. - Give them some easy quests to start out with, so all of you can get accustomed to each other’s play style. - Praise them when they do wonderful, creative things. - Pay attention to the backgrounds or stories they give their characters. Make plenty of notes and study them! - Respect that they have worked hard on creating their part of this story. - Greet them warmly when they arrive every single session, and put them at ease. - Smile with all the love and care that you have in you. - Then unleash your carefully curated and well-crafted plot using all of their weaknesses and backstories that you’ve learned, maintaining your smile as you watch the pure horror creep up on each of their faces.

Just once, I want the hero to go “your wife/sister/mother/whatever would not have wanted this!”, and the villain to go, “actually, we talked about this a lot. She was really into vigilante justice and eye for an eye stuff. She always said, if something like this happens, avenge me.”

“Your mother never would have wanted this!”

“Wow you clearly never met my mother.”

“Your wife wouldn’t have wanted this!”

“To be honest, I’m following her list of instructions. Do you think I came up with this plan by myself?”

“I wanted to go to art school, but no! You had to kill my sister and make me enact her 37 step plan on what to do in case she was murdered!”

The things we endure for love…

Luke is raised by his Father Darth Vader, who is willing to endure anything for his son. The poor unsuspecting Uncle Piett, who arranged the day-trip to the beach with Uncle Max, is trying his best to comfort the sand-hating Sith Lord.

I had a flashback to a gif I saw in like 2007 and it somehow made me do a Maxie version
