• been teased by Teresa about Newt
• shaken his head when Newt insisted he enjoys being hoarded by girls
• felt his heart break every time Newt is even remotely sad
• felt himself tremble with rage when he imagined someone hurting Newt
• nearly passed out at the thought of losing Newt (didn’t, because Newt was there to steady him)
• never ever wanted Newt to think badly of him, even when they’d just met!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
• recognized him??? when no else could???? when he could barely see anything at all???
• just sat and watched Newt eat like a fuckin’ creep
• Felt a draw to Newt before he’d even seen the boy, wtf

• panicked when he couldn’t find Newt within the group in the Scorch (but he calmed down when Newt said he was there) 
• had a revelation that he “hadn’t realized just how much Newt meant to him” 
• literally once thought “Newt, Newt, Newt.” 
• felt crushed when Newt mad at him
• admitted to Teresa, the supposed love interest, no one else calls him “Tommy” but Newt
• laughed or at least smiled at Newt’s jokes
• mentioned multiple times Newt is one of the few people he likes
• missed!!! Newt!!!!!!
• felt super duper mega protective over Newt
• felt unsure what to do with himself if Newt didn’t believe him (but Newt does believe him and wow Newtmas is so canon)
• felt “a wave of reassurance” like “he was finding the world was okay again” when he saw Newt smile
• said that he was coming for Newt (wait no that sounds wrong i meant,, this is the quote: “I’m coming for you, Newt,” Thomas whispered, so softly that no one could possibly hear him.)
• gotten upset when he saw Newt was upset
