I think a lot about about the popular reaction to those tiktok artists who use a pendulum over a canvas to paint instead of doing it by hand.
obviously a lot of them seem to bait negative reactions for views but like, most of the issue seems to come from the idea that it doesn’t require any effort - which is fascinating to me because you know they rig those rooms themselves?
Each video has different a setup that probably took a few hours at least; often the canvas is moving as well as the paint and the rigging is very symmetrical and smooth in a way that definitely took the artist a fair amount of calculation/work. Idk, I’m not saying it’s for everyone but it’s more purposeful than most people seem to think
Skill and time aside it’s interesting to see how small changes can drastically alter the shape of a pattern
