THIS VINE IS MY LIFE
GOOD GOD PRAISE THE PERSON WHO MADE IT!!
I have seen oodles of cute decorations done with fairy lights, and I decided I wanted to spice up my room with them. I love the warm glow they give to a room. However, just stringing them up looked rather dinky especially when they weren’t turned on. I wasn’t able to find a tutorial on making letters with fairy lights, so I decided to document the process I did to make these!
Materials Needed:
- Large flattened cardboard
- Scissors
- Pencil/Eraser & Marker
- Knives (or a boxcutter) you don’t have any particular fondness for, one thin paring knife & one serrated blade to saw.
- Measuring Tape (The “L” is 20” & the others are 12”; they are about 2-3” wide)
- Fairy Lights (at least one strand more than you think you’ll need!)
Optional:
- Paint & Brushes
- Craft Wire
If you are going to paint the cardboard as I did, do so after step six, before you wrap the lights. It’s good to paint them a color close to the wires, so they don’t stand out when not in use. The craft wire can be used to make loops at the tops of your letts for easy mounting and to keep pesky strands in place.
Also, be aware (if you decided to hang them) of how much you’ll need to leave on the end to reach the nearest outlet!
