#Earlier today a friend of mine who is a lot more academic than I am was talking about a disease that impacts liver function#and she was like#oh they should just give the patient a transplant#and i was like no thats idiotic. the patient is 6 and would need anti rejection meds for the rest of his life.#his current treatment is noninvasive and inexpensive. its barely even a treatment#why would you have a 6 yr old go through major surgery instead#and she was like. shocked and hadnt considered the ethics at all. she wants to be a doctor n im like... hm#like i just want to do research w my degree. i should probs b more of a mad scientist than the person who wants to actually go into Med lol#but yea this post reminded me of that bc it was a v stunning display of being smart but having no common sense or compassion

the short trans men hear you. the trans men with bottom growth—or who are post-phalloplasty—hear your bad jokes about small dicks. the trans men undergoing hrt who are losing their hair hear you talk shit about bald spots.
also, hot take, you should care about not hurting random cis men in addition to not hurting trans men. like just because some guy is being an asshole online doesn’t mean the thousands of young boys reading your comments about someone with their same acne deserved it. i don’t care what your reason is, even if you think someone is bad enough to warrant being bullied, who gave you permission to hurt the innocent bystander?

I hope everyone understands, when I say “most endangered habitat on earth”, I mean temperate grasslands.
They’re more endangered than tropical rainforests, coral reefs, the arctic tundra, all of those go-to environments that get more of the spotlight.
Where I live, maybe 25% of the prairie remains in a natural state and that number is dropping. Even these fragments are mostly missing the keystone species that maintain their health, like bison, wolves, and prairie dogs. I know this is the case for other grasslands like the pampas and steppe as well. Vast lands empty of many species that used to call them home.
If you live on temperate grasslands, hold onto them tight, because they’ve been exploited like no other land and most people don’t even know how far the devastation goes.
If you want to donate to an organization doing great work on this I highly recommend checking out (and possibly donating to) Southern Plains Land Trust. One of my friends is a board member and they're doing great work! They've preserved over 60000 acres already. They even have a gift shop with some fantastic posters, shirts and bison earrings!

the thing that sucks is that people love saying sleep early is good etc etc and yeah it is. I've seen some benefits before. but I think it sucks to ignore that late night is the only time with any freedom. I think it sucks to not acknowledge the dread in waking up and it's a work day again

Remember, NSFW is not an abbreviation for nude that somehow has more syllables. It's shorthand for "If my boss happened to look over my shoulder when this was on my screen, would there be consequences?"
This is subjective, and depends on the boss and the job, of course. But many, many images that contain zero nudity are still very much NSFW (and sometimes, images with nudity aren't!) Consider this.
