What is one of the most stressful things you’ve had to do on set?
PSA to stop sharing *that* picture of Tom around.
I don’t care if you crop the “fan” out just to show Tom. Don’t share it. Just don’t.
#1 If he was being assaulted from the front I’d hope to God y'all would have the decency to not share that image, either, so just because it’s out of view and on his backside it doesn’t make it okay.
and
#2 Tom regularly checks his tags. I know this, you know this, we all know this. You really think he wants to see that and relive it several times a day? No. So stop sharing it.
I’m seeing on instagram that someone that met Tom recently had a photo with him and can be seen grabbing Tom’s butt and he looks really uncomfortable and I’m just really upset. He doesn’t take the time out of his vacation to take a photo with fans just to be sexually assaulted.
I haven’t seen the photo personally and the person who posted it has gone private but I’m not sure I’d want to see Tom looking so uncomfortable anyway. The guy he took the photo with claims it was an ‘accident’ but it clearly wasn’t from the way he wrote the comment.
No one deserves to be treated that way, male or female, and I hope the person who did it has realised how disgusting it is to do that to someone.
What the hell?????
so i was thinking, what if in Miles’ universe, MJ was actually just Zendaya
Miles Morales got his hands on the Golden Globe. Drawn by Spider-Verse animator Greg Verreault!
miles and peter b parker reflect all gen z vs millennial interactions ever
I keep thinking about the scene in Spiderverse where Miles’ new powers start manifesting and the visuals start turning more and more comic booky around him, and what a genius bit of visual storytelling that is
“Why are my thoughts so loud?” he thinks, and it’s because they appear in textboxes on the screen now, for the audience to read. BRILLIANT.
imagine miles’ dad is on his way home one night when he spots spiderman sitting by himself on the roof of a building
he looks small, and lonely, and fragile
and jefferson, who has a son around spiderman’s age, can’t ignore the impulse to make sure he’s okay
so he finds his way to spiderman’s perch and settles down next to him
they sit in silence for a long time, spiderman staring up at the moon in thoughtful silence
it’s almost five minutes before he finally speaks
“i was there, you know”
jefferson doesn’t understand
spiderman hugs his leg to his chest, resting his cheek on his knee as he turns his face to the officer sitting at his side
“when peter died,” he says by way of explanation, and his voice is wavering with the threat of tears. “i’d only had my powers for a day, and i was so scared. i had no idea what was happening to me. but then he showed up.”
jefferson is baffled, his whole world turned on its axis. somehow, he’d never thought about who spiderman had been before he was spiderman. there was a part of him that had just kind of assumed he’d been different from birth. a part of him had bought into the lie that spiderman was indestructible, that he had always known what he was doing and who he was.
“he said he’d teach me,” says spiderman, voice bitter with longing. “he promised he’d show me the ropes and be there for me when i needed him. and then he died.”
“i’m sorry you had to experience that,” says jefferson, because he doesn’t know what else to say. and it’s the most natural feeling in the world to reach out to the young hero and wrap him in a hug.
he fits in jefferson’s arms like he’s always belonged there, and in a moment of clarity, jefferson feels everything click into place
“i watched fisk kill him, and i didn’t do anything,” sobs the child in his arms, the child that jefferson would recognize anywhere, in any life. “it’s my fault he died. i killed spiderman”
“Oh miles,” he says, voice gentle as he reaches down to remove the mask from his son’s face so he can wipe his tears away with gentle fingers. “you didn’t kill spiderman. you brought him back to us.”
miles, who has anxiety but doesn’t know it: every kid is The Way I Am it’s normal to think everyone is judging you
peter, age 37, on his 5th panic attack of the day: miles you fucking dumbass
My parents are Miles lmao
Okay, so has any noticed that it very very much seems like Miles has a major anxiety disorder?
Besides the whole having trouble socializing with people. We can see this by his method of hiding his new abilities. Instead of trying to keep cool, he ducks and runs around the school like as if the whole school knows about his problem. How he talk to Gwen and how quickly his mind is racing when having a normal conversation with her.
Not only that but he also covers his face when his dad was driving past a couple of people from school. He didn’t have to but it seems like he thinks the worst of things first. He also thinks so down at himself. When people in his old school said that they missed him which was something he didn’t expect. He didn’t think that people would actually miss seeing him or even think of him.
And to top it off miles’ anxiety even controls his powers. When feeling any way anxious he turns invisible. Not just in a fight or flight moments, because when he became overwhelmed with the different spidermans trying to teach him. He turned invisible to run away from the situation.
Miles’ parents are even aware with his anxiety. When he runs back home to sleep there for the night. You can hear his mother’s talking about that he can be a bit “sensitive”. They know that miles keeps somethings inside and has problems with expressing his feelings. This leaving a gap between his father and himself.
And last, we can see that miles has major difficulty handling his emotions by myself and gets very overwhelmed very quickly. He doesn’t really have a coping method to calm himself down. He tried to call his uncle when feeling stressed or overwhelmed. He goes to his parents house aswell. He had to learn a coping method (which was music) when trying unstick himself because he didn’t know how to calm himself down.
Pretty much. Miles is a precious anxious boy that needs to be protected.
hey, if you have a twitter account, do me a favor and report @/mileslovespeter
someone brought this account to my attention earlier, this person is promoting pedophilia and using my art, without my approval, for their own twisted purposes. twitter doesnt seem to have a way to report copyright infringement, so please just report them for hateful content.
they also have the clown and cowboy emojis in their bio, which are commonly used by pedophiles on twitter to identify each other online. i dont want my art associated with this, its sickening and twitter should not tolerate intellectual property theft either!
if somebody knows the artist of the original drawing of miles too, please let me know! i believe ive seen it on tumblr before but i cant remember the creator’s name :((
can we appreciate blonde peter for a minute…. like he was in the MIDDLE of fighting maybe 3 villains at once and he takes the time to save this scared kid, which is standard spiderman stuff, and THEN once he spidersenses that miles got bitten too he immediately stops to reassure him and tell him that he won’t be alone and that he’s going to help him. knowing how scary it probably was for peter when he first got bitten he didn’t want miles to go through that alone, he was going to help him through everything even when his life was in danger in the middle of a fight…. UGH
Okay, but he probably knew that he was gonna die when he made Miles promise to save the realities. So the fact that he still thought of all of those people, and not of himself is so sad and brave.
John talking about how he found out into the spider-verse is PG
bonus
spiderverse au where miles and peter b parker are from the same universe:
time has not been gentle to spiderman.
twenty years of fighting crime has taken its toll on the beloved superhero, his weary shoulders bent under the weight of the world, his boundless energy seeping slowly away until he’s left dragging his feet, no energy these days to take selfies with fans or talk to reporters
spiderman is dying a slow and painful death, and the public sees it. they see and they mourn and they yell their encouragement, but it’s never enough, it never gets through to him.
but then, something happens. something new.
a child in a store-bought spiderman costume shows up one day out of nowhere, and starts following spiderman around. popping up at the worst times possible, getting caught in the crossfire of villain fights, getting yelled at by spiderman.
and at first, the world is mystified. this child can’t shoot webs or swing from building to building. everyone thinks he’s just a reckless child playing at a dangerous game. but then they see him walk up walls and lift things no child should logically be able to lift, and they realize that maybe this kid isn’t so normal after all
one month after he first shows up, and spiderman finally accepts that his little pal won’t be going anywhere anytime soon. the kid shows up to the next fight shooting webs and swinging clumsily across town. his form isn’t very good yet, but he’s getting there.
two months in, and he’s finally allowed to do more than stand on the sidelines. their teamwork still needs practice, but they’ve got each other’s backs, and the public starts to notice something changing in their idol. he hangs back just a little bit longer after villain fights, talking to reporters and waving to fans
three months in, and the public barely recognizes their new mascot when he shows up to a fight wearing a slick new suit that matches his mentor’s, the black of his suit contrasting starkly with spiderman’s iconic red and blue.
half a year after they first met, and peter b parker still doesn’t know his new little sidekick’s name, but he kind of absolutely loves the kid. he’s selfless and brave and determined to do whatever it takes to make the world a better place.
through him, peter rediscovers a part of himself he’d lost long ago, and finally manages to dredge up enough courage to call mj back.
seven months in, and miles is walking through a park when he sees a couple walking in the opposite direction, hand-in-hand and hopelessly in love.
he doesn’t know either of them, but there’s something familiar about the man. some part of miles knows him, recognizes the rhythm of his gait and the tenor of his voice.
miles is still trying to figure it out as the couple passes by him, when suddenly, he and the man both stop short, spinning to face each other at the tug of their shared sixth sense
brown eyes lock onto blue as they both realize who the other is
miles is the first to recover. nervously straightening up, he holds out a sweaty palm.
“I’m Miles Morales, sir. It’s an honour to properly meet you!”
peter is taken aback for a second, and beside him mj is looking back and forth between the two, confusion in her eyes.
but then peter’s face softens into a smile
“peter b parker,” he says by way of introduction. “and the honour is all mine.”
and instead of taking the handshake, he pulls miles into a hug, thanking the universe for bringing this kid into his life.
I saw Spiderverse again and saw something important
There is a billboard in some scenes for “Hi, Hello,” an obvious play on “Oh, Hello”
It still had John Mulaney on the billing.
John Mulaney exists in Miles world, which opens up just a world of possibility.
Miles realizes that Spiderham sounds exactly like John Mulaney
Or, a more cursed idea, John Mulaney finds out a pig sounds exactly like him.
