On Cherry Blossom’s Skating Style

One thing I’ve noticed in this fandom is that many people assume that Cherry’s skating style is lesser- or easier- than many of the other skaters at “S” and that he can’t do anything without Carla. Some people also take Adam’s “boring” remark as a statement of fact rather than something meant to cause further pain to someone who was already down.

There hasn’t been a set group of people doing this, it’s pretty much all over the fandom; even fans of the character get into this mindset. And, frankly, I want to say:

Carla’s calculations don’t mean shit if Cherry doesn’t hit that angle.

Yes, Carla tells Kaoru what angle a curve is going to be and how far away it is/time to it, however, it is up to him and his skills as a skater to be able to hit that angle, and he has to hit it perfectly for her calculations to have been of any use.

Carla’s calculations as a whole are only useful for that one match as well. We’ve been shown in episode one that the “S” track is constantly changing. Multiple trees fall and a rock slide happens during Langa’s race against Shadow, and whatever scans and calculations Carla would have made on one pass down the track would be completely useless for a second run.

Carla does not skate for Cherry- if she did then there would be no need for her to calculate angles- Kaoru is the one in control and he is the one putting in most of the work. Note:

Bad checked on Max when Trumpet died, thus them talking about the island and how weird it is. Then it developed into Max and Bad spending a lot of time together and theorizing. They basically talked everyday and kicked started the whole theory bros.

Then when Max made Sofia, he showed Bad first because he trusts him the most. Even when Sofia got locked up by cellbit then unlocked, Max trusted Bad with the two person authorization. Bad still checks in with Max when hes online to help him get Sofia back up.

Like they care about each other so much. Bad tries to include Max on any adventures if able and keep Max up to date on whats going on the island. Their friendship means so much to me.

As for the romantic side of things, when everyone was in the bar earlier today and asking Max who he secretly loves, Baghera asked if it was Bad and Max went weirdly silent. (on Maxs stream with his face cam, he was smiling) Like it would make so much sense if Max had a crush on Bad. Bad was one of people who was always by his side through everything. Max trusts Bad with basically his life

When I say wait for the CC to adress the issues in their next stream this is what I mean. Roier is known for adressing any kind of problem, so reading the overflow of hate-tweets he (and also the hispanics that were only trying to explain our culture and why he most likely didnt say that word with malice) recieved was crazy. Your first instinct cant be "lets destroy this person" for every thing. If the CC dosent adress it or just confirm that they are not decent then block them, unfollow them, speak up. But you cant go into attack mode as your first reaction.

I dont know, im tired as hell. Im glad its over at least with him, but god, theres ways and ways to express yourself.

Voy a hablar de acá de algunas cosas porque no quiero tocar twitter.

Existe el racismo en latam. El que lo niegue le falta un par de neuronas. El racismo es algo universal. Ahora, las formas de racismo que existen van a ser diferentes según la cultura. La palabra N en USA no tiene el mismo peso en LATAM porque lo más probable es que la gente ni siquiera supiese el verdadero significado hasta hace solo unos años. ¿Por qué? Porque tenemos idiomas diferentes y nuestras problemáticas sociales son diferentes.

Cuando alguien, en todo este caos, dice que no es justo que se juzgue de la misma manera a un latino que a un gringo no es porque sea racista. Es porque estamos pidiendo que contextualizar el hecho: hace 10 años un adolescente de 14 años latinoamericano, con cero ingles y cero conciencia de la situación social de estados unidos dijo una palabra que, como la mayoría de nosotros, escuchamos en películas y canciones. No lo quita lo malo, pero mas preocupante sería que hubiese dicho una palabra racista para lo que es SU cultura y SU sociedad.

El QSMP es un server donde se derriban muros de idiomas y culturas. Este iba a ser un choque inevitable. Está bueno que alguien salga a hablar (Los que no lo hicieron ya) pero lo que no está bueno es atacar en vez de escuchar a quien no creció en USA. No porque no haya racismo en Latam, sino porque, como ya dije, es diferente. Es una lastima que un tema tan relevante como este, que se pudo haber traído a la conversación de forma constructiva y como una oportunidad de dialogar y crecer juntos como comunidades, se haya reducido a enviar odio y atacar a gente.

I'm going to talk about some things here because I don't want to touch twitter.

There is racism in Latam. Whoever denies it is missing a couple of brain cells. Racism is something universal. Now, the ways in which racism can be experienced are going to be different depending on the culture and the history of each contry. The N-word in the US doesn't carry the same weight in LATAM because most likely people didn't even know what it really meant until just a few years ago. Why? Because we have different languages and our social issues are not the same.

When someone, in the middle of all this chaos, says that it is not fair that a Latino is judged in the same way as a gringo, it is not because they are racist. It is because we are asking you to contextualize the facts: 10 years ago a 14-year-old Latin American teenager, with zero English and zero awareness of the social situation in the United States, said a word that, like most of us, he hear in movies and songs. It doesn't take away the bad, but it would be more worrying if he had said a racist word for what HIS culture and HIS society is.

The QSMP is a server where walls of languages and cultures are broken down. This was going to be an inevitable clash. It would be great if someone comes out to speak up (Those who didn't already) but what is not great is attacking instead of listening to someone who didn't grow up in the USA. Not because there is no racism in Latam, but because, as I already said, it is different. It's a shame that a such a relevant topic like this, which could have been brought up constructively and as an opportunity to have an important dialogue and grow together as communities, has been reduced to sending hate and attacking people.
