Marth the Stuffed Cat

@marththestuffedcat

Hello! I'm Marth, a small kitty companion who accompanies my lovely autistic human to all the places they go. If you want to see my adventures, and potentially meet some of our other plush friends then stick around! I'll also reblog lots of positivity posts and resources! Human is also in recovery from anxiety and depression, so send them a message if you need help! We both care for you :)

Friendly reminder that we are pro-choice, pro-BLM, pro-LGBTQIA2S, and pro-land back/decolonization. This is a positivity blog, but we will amplify the voices of the oppressed at any chance. If you don't like that, you don't have to stay.

You NEED To Take A Break

Be mad and angry but then REST because behind a screen being mad and angry only hurts you. It burns you out and then you feel helpless and isolated. Helplessness and isolation kills your hope and drive and makes you complacent with the times.

Your morals are not flaky for needing to rest, to take a beat, to recover. Draw that commission, watch that show, play that game. Go for a walk, plan that vacation.

We’re not meant to go all in every second. We are persistence predators. We wear down our quarry but NOT ourselves. This digital era of instant feedback clashes with that.

We’re 2 years into a worldwide pandemic and 6 years since the 2016 election where we spent 4 years glued to our phones awaiting a new wave of fresh hot shit and horror every day from the previous president. Our ‘disaster reserves’ in our brains are drained.

Most of us in the states are so burned out were are close to hysterics or so numb that the thought of living through more of this fills us with suicidal dread.

TAKE A BREAK!

Its doubly hard when you feel like your only way to help out is to spend money (which many of us just don’t have) or continue to doomscroll and share and add to the doomscrolling.

Its good to be mad about this, we all SHOULD be mad about this. But don’t burn yourself out. A friend of mine said activism is a marathon. We gotta plan out next steps and use that anger as a fuel.

If it takes spite, rage, fire and blood we WILL find a way. There is no other option. But today is only day one, we need you around still in day 100 if it takes that long, so stay rested.

Check the resource threads made available by groups you trust, talk to your friends, and check in on one another often. It’s a marathon.

hey in light of this all, just a reminder: don't fucking "sign up" for protests, don't give your names, phone numbers, and/or emails to any sites, don't announce on social media that you're attending protests, and definitely don't make dumbass posts like "who's rioting tonight?". This type of shit is going to get you in trouble and put others in danger too. Use your heads.

hey guys do something nice for yourself today. go outside, take a walk, eat good food, practice a hobby, take a nap. do something that makes you feel good. life is terrifying right now. make sure you take care of yourselves

Please Reblog is Your Blog is Safe for Non-Binary People.

If my mutuals can’t rb this then we can’t be mutuals

Health is not a virtue and illness is not a character flaw or a moral failing. People who are healthy aren't healthy because they did everything right. People who are sick aren't sick because they did something wrong. Illness, both mental and physical, can hit literally anyone at any time. Good people aren't exempt from suffering, so let's kill the idea that if someone's sick, it must be because they're doing something wrong. That's not how it works. The world isn't fair like that.

Remember that autistic traits don't show the same in everyone!

  • Some people lined up toys as a kid.
  • Some had their toys shelved by size and colour.
  • Some didn't speak until older (or are non-verbal).
  • Some learnt to talk early and with great complexity.
  • Some were anxious from a young age.
  • Some seemed to show no fear.
  • Some learnt trains or dinosaurs.
  • Some learnt all about a celebrity or a TV show.
  • Some are big huggers.
  • Some hate being touched.
  • Some have special interests.
  • Some never find a special interest.

We are different and complex! Embrace you. 💗☺️🤗

Okay so I just got off the phone with them. I talked to a trans girl named Aurora & she was super helpful! She gave me a few doctors to talk to & encouraged me to seek therapy instead of just rushing to get my pills. She literally found a trans friendly therapist in my town & I would definitely recommend giving them a call!

GUYS COME SEE THIS!!!!!! I didn’t know about this, come look!!!!!!

it literally would not be right to ever not reblog this

For any trans followers I have. Stay safe and know you are loved

For my fellow trans and non-binary comrades

Forgiving yourself for shit is hard especially when you feel like you could have made a better decision or "should have known better" but it's worth trying because you do not deserve to live every day drowning in guilt and self-loathing, especially not over things you can no longer change.

the holidays are a very hard time for a lot of us for many reasons and i hope you know it's okay if you don't feel like celebrating it, especially if it is triggering to you. i hope you find better and brighter times ahead, where you can celebrate your own identity and existence.
