The boy’s been through it man. Between crazy scientists and a kid with low self esteem, Dima needs a vacation.
shoutout to everyone dealing with. thhe fucking difficulty
the fact that all of my mutuals immediately reblogged this from me really says something about all of us, doesn't it
Hot take: Every game made specifically for Esports is big trash.
You cannot invent an Esport, you have to start by making a good game that people like to play and naturally get good at. If you make a game that only exists to be played on camera by hyper-elite pro gamers then all that you've really done is make a game whose only audience is elitist twats. It won't be fun, no one will want to play it, and the only way anyone will pay attention to it is if there's cash incentives. Cash incentives you cannot afford because your game is a flop.
Bringing this back now that Overwatch has managed to die a second time
Smh Tobias sees one medium sized theropod and immediately assumes it's deinonychus without even knowing where he is in the world or having a chance to actually study it. Pathetic. It can't have been that close to the action figures he had as a kid because even today the colors are mostly speculation, unless it was a whole world recreated from his memories... hey, wait a minute! ELLIMIST WHAT DID YOU DO.
What else could it be? Velociraptor?
There are so, so many different theropods it could have been, depending on where they were on the planet, which they never figured out. Utahraptor, Austroraptor, any number of unnamed species we haven't discovered yet, any of the unnamed species that ended up being chimerized into Dakotaraptor, etc.
And heck, it could be Deinonychus. I am not saying it wasn't. I just don't think a Tobias could have accurately guessed it just from the action figures he had as a kid in the late Eighties and early Nineties.
this is the funniest tweet of all time
So historically accurate bestie
You aren't anti communist. You are anti totalitarian
Thank you! Yes I unironically agree. A stateless classless money-free society where all do what they can to contribute and live comfortable lives in return sounds wonderful in theory, I just wish that's how communist revolutions went in real life. For anything like that to work, workers across the world would need to collectively decide that they're done with the wars of conquest, the repression of dictatorships, the corruption of democracy by big money interests, the awful wages and high rents, the horrific conditions for the working class and monumental greed in supposedly communist nations, and everything else.
Currently the options presented to us are "you get to own your own property if you have any, and you get some say in politics, but good luck beating the established wealthy because they'll fight you on both with their connections and resources" It's not unwinnable but it's unjust and it shouldn't have to be that way. Either that or it's "you don't get property rights, you get no say in politics, the solution to flawed democracy is no democracy, speak against us and you'll die" which is arguably worse even than having to deal with the uphill battle that is capitalism, since a lot of people are going to end up impoverished, exploited, and abused by the system in both cases anyway.
A better way is possible it simply requires a much greater class consciousness and for communism to lose it's tankie reputation. At the moment though, at least in the United States, a progressive social democratic push towards better wages, workers rights, equal rights and equity for women and minorities, protecting the environment, and preventing wars of imperialism is the way to go in my opinion.
Elon Musk accidentally revealed that he has an alt where he posts as a 3-year-old
First of all, yes this is real
Second of all, it gets worse! The profile pic is of his son, X (the one with the meme name)
And he recently posted this
So he's not only posting as a 3 year old (technically 2), but he's posting as his own son.
i need feminism because when jesus does a magic trick it’s a goddamn miracle but when a woman does a magic trick she gets burned at the stake
fabulous
i mean they did also kill jesus. that was a pretty significant thing that happened. like i understand where you’re coming from here but they very much did kill jesus.
Ron DeSantis just kidnapped a 13-year old boy.
Earlier this evening, at around 7 PM CT U.S., Rebekah Jones (notably one of DeSantis’ biggest political enemies right now) underwent a raid on her home by state police.
Guns were pointed in the face of her 13-year old son, Jack. They arrested him under the charges of digital terrorism and “on state orders.”
They are refusing to let him go home and they are refusing to let Jones see him.
These are her screenshots recounting the incident from earlier tonight. They were taken at 10:23 PM CT U.S.
Reblog. I don’t care who you are, reblog this. We have to make sure that this doesn’t get buried – it’s already happening.
An update by her. She’s the COVID-19 whistleblower in FL. The scientist that pointed out that FL was covering the real number of cases

It was a really, really good political news day today in the US (4/4/23)
For anyone who hasn't heard, not only did Trump get arrested, but also:
-We found out that the legal case against him in this prosecution (stormy daniels hush money case) is SIGNIFICANTLY stronger than people had speculated. Like, wow do they have receipts.
-In fact, the evidence was so entirely there that the new question on prime time news (well, at least on msnbc lol) is "Hey, why didn't the federal courts prosecute him for this already???)
-Trump FAILED UTTERLY in his attempts to rally mass protests and demands for "death and destruction" if he was arrested. There was no violence at the arrest at all, and as for Trump supporters? They failed to show up in any kind of numbers--reportedly only about a hundred people were protesting the arrest
-We (aka Judge Janet Protasiewicz) WON what is widely considered to be the most consequential election of 2023, a Wisconsin state supreme court election that handed control of the state supreme court to the left
-Because of that election win, it is now extremely likely that abortion will be legal in Wisconsin, and that Wisconsin won't be able to throw out electors in the 2024 presidential election
-ALSO bc of this, Wisconsin, the most gerrymandered state in the country, will probably get nonpartisan, accurate maps, which COULD FLIP THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES in 2024
-In Chicago, Brandon Johnson, union organizer and former teacher, won the election for mayor, in a decisive win progressives, esp for meaningful criminal justice reform and investment in mental health (whereas the other guy was campaigning on hiring hundreds of new cops and being super tough on crime)
LIghthouse keepers will never be memorialized like soldiers or cops because they didn’t kill anyone (as part of their job) but they’re like, heroes who saved untold lives through discipline and self-sacrifice doing an impossible lonely job and I’m worked up about it
Clinging to a swaying tower in freezing, driving rain, risking death by everything from pneumonia to a fall to a fucking lightning strike to keep the lantern going when you don’t even KNOW if someone is out on the water!! Working! Class! Heroes!
Love very much the sentiment of this post and also love the specific wording of “didn’t kill anyone (as part of their job)” because what lighthouse keepers did off hours is their own business
You laugh, but one time I was ringing up a bottle of coke for this really cute lesbian at work and since it’s the Mexican coke with an old-fashioned cap, I meant to ask if she wanted me to take it off w/ the bottle opener.
What actually came out of my mouth was “Um, do you want me to take that top off? Uhh your bottle. The bottle cap. Removed?”
Transcript : Oh and- and can i top you- can i- and would you- and- can i get your top- wa- could i top- *breathes in* can i- uh- *breathes in* and would you li- and can i give dr- k- drink- and- *about to cry* thirsty?

Addition about the image, courtesy of Twitter user @lui_log: wrt the background image, which is a stone plaque showing a winged goddess flanked by owls: “Also, we don't know whether this is a depiction of Ishtar, as the piece has been looted, thus has no archaeological context that could point us to whom it shows. Nor does it bear an inscription. The owls could mean that it is Ishtar's sister Ereshkigal, Goddess of the Underworld.”
Losing my mind at this pigeon that looks like a seagull god he’s so cool
