Did you ever wonder what exactly our ever-fashionable, proper hobbit would wear around Erebor if we got the ending we deserved? #everyonelivesnoonedies   Well, I did and I spent some long hours burning the midnight oil (and my ipad’s battery) on trying to figure it out. The outfits are inspired by the original artbook for the first Hobbit movie and a stash of books on medieval clothing that I happen to have. As one does.  My main purpose was to move around the scale of how hobbitish-dwarvish the outfits would be, going as far as growing out his feet hair enough to braid it and adding little sidebeards and crazy hairstyles. And also finding ideas for different, more or less formal occasions. Make of them what you please though! My personal favourites are 4, 5 and 9 cause I’m a sucker for dat royal consort AU but I tried to match all sorts of concepts. Do you have any favs? Sorry for not adding numbers, it would bug me forever to have them there ^^” Oh and if anyone would feel like colouring* any of them, DO TAG ME :D I would absolutely love to see your ideas. I had tons of fun doing it and I hope you guys will have some while scrolling through them :)  ____ *(you can colour any lineart in photoshop or procreate by setting the layer of lineart on top and switching it to “multiply” mode. The white becomes see through and you can put colour on layers below ^^ )

i should know my watson by now…quick man, if you love me…..he broke into a low laugh and put his lips to my ear….it was worth a wound, it was worth many wounds…..dr watson is my friend and partner…you are not coming….then you are not going……you won’t fail me, you never did fail me…something in his eyes which was nearer to tenderness than I had ever seen…i felt holmes’ hand steal into mine….for two hours we rambled about together, in silence for the most part, as befits two men who know each other intimately….when you like and where you like….and believe me to be, my dear fellow, very sincerely yours….

you know, i answered with some emotion, for I have never seen so much of holmes’ heart before, that it is my greatest joy and privilege to help you…. i dashed from my chair, threw my arms round holmes, and together we lurched through the door, and an instant afterwards had thrown ourselves down upon the grass plot and were lying side by side…..it was [in the turkish baths] that i have found him less reticent and more human than anywhere else….[holmes] seated himself opposite to me—we had a first-class carriage to ourselves—and laying a hand upon each of my knees he looked into my eyes with the peculiarly mischievous gaze which was characteristic of his more imp-like moods….this is my intimate friend and associate, dr. watson, before whom you can speak as freely as before myself….by the lord, it is as well for you. if you had killed watson, you would not have got out of this room alive…..it was in the year ‘95 that a combination of events, into which i need not enter, caused mr. sherlock holmes and myself to spend some weeks in one of our great university towns…

Imagine being in Victorian England. You call Sherlock Holmes to investigate for you. And in walks AN ABSOLUTE FUCKING UNIT. A Dorito in tweed. A brick shithouse. A man so beautiful your literal eyes melt out of your literal skull. Like. Imagine.

To me, Van Gogh is the finest painter of them all. Certainly the most popular great painter of all time, the most beloved. His command of colour, the most magnificent. He transformed the pain of his tormented life into ecstatic beauty. Pain is easy to portray, but to use your passion and pain to portray the ecstasy and joy and magnificence of our world - no-one had ever done it before. Perhaps no-one ever will again. To my mind, that strange, wild man who roamed the fields of Provence was not only the world’s greatest artist, but also one of the greatest men who ever lived.
