Hey guys! I’m aware how many regressors, like myself and others, have had a rather tricky time trying to modify baby Nuk pacifiers. Nuk pacis aren’t the kind that are as easy to open as MAMs or AVENT ultra airs... but! I’ve found a very easy solution to prying open Nuks! Here’s how you do it! 💙
This tutorial was inspired by @preciousheartpacifiers MAM modding video! Check it out!
Step 1: Get out the pacifiers you wanna mod, I have two Nuk pacis I’m gonna take apart, as well as those Dollar store pacis you see with Disney and Nickelodeon characters on. You’re also gonna need, a Towel to hold the pacis, a screwdriver with a veeery flat head, this is important for getting under the plastic of the button, and a pair of tongs!
Step 2: Get a pot of water and place the pacis in the pot, then wait for the water to boil and wait another 5 minutes as the pacis “cook” :P
Step 3: After that’s all done you use the tongs to take out the pacis as to not burn yourself. Make sure to squeeze out any water from the teat that could have built up inside, have the towel and screwdriver at the ready!
Step 4: See the circled area? That’s the spot where you wanna insert the flathead and pry.
Step 5: Hold the paci with the towel since it’s still gonna be hot, and push the screwdriver down to lift the button/handle! And voila! You got the Nuk open!
The side of the opening now will be a bit bent, but worry not! Due to the plastic still being soft, you can easily bend it back into shape!
Next we’re gonna open up the Everest pacifier! These kind of pacis are similar to Nuks in how we need to open it, but it’s gonna take a bit more elbow grease when it comes to prying under the button.
Step 1: Hold the paci with the towel and insert the flathead into the hole were the handles are, and start to shimmy your way in under the button, take your time with this as to not distort the plastic too much.
Step 2: While you’re getting the screwdriver further under the button, start to pry down while holding the paci slightly elevated as to give yourself some room for pushing downwards. The inside of the pacifier is more complicated than the inside of Nuks, these dollar store ones can actually be compared to Tommee Tippee pacifiers in terms of the boarders surrounding the teat.
Step 3: Now after a bit of patience and shimmying, you should have the paci taken apart! Some parts on the inside might be bent, but you can easily fix these defects by warming the parts up in the water again.
Here’s the Everest pacifier after taking the baby sized teat out and putting in an adult sized teat! Now you will want to be careful about tugging too hard on the handles of these modded pacis since they WILL one apart, but not too easily if you’re careful!
I hope this post has helped anyone who was struggling with opening these kind of pacis, since Nuk has so many adorable designs, one shouldn’t be stopped from modding one from how it’s built!
Thanks for reading! ^^ 💜
Fanart for my season 3 era fic The Thing With Feathers. I've wanted art of this for ages, and I started digital painting in October, so...thought I'd give it a shot. 😅
I’m finally done with meidri! I just have to finish Yamato and tohru now. Yamato is going to probably take the longest just because it takes stuff forever to dry.
These days I start working on the second part of the board. It will be divided into two sections, the first will be in the form of an underground cave framed by a river (I will not go into details I don’t want not to reveal many things of Crippled God Foundry upcoming kickstarter). The stone platform and the ship will be the main elements. The second will be a snowy landscape with evidence of a battle. Of course the small village still has a lot of details that have not been completed, but I need a more advanced picture of the whole display board to avoid mistakes and unnecessary work that will increase my completion time.
JEDI BOOKS!
I love these book props from The Rise of Skywalker Visual Dictionary. It was totally unnecessary to have a fully rendered book for the movie, but I’m glad they hired some bookbinder to make them anyway, if only so I can oooh over the photographs.
So excited! Finally got a frame from my OUAT props! I bought the contract to Roni's bar and a napkin from The Rabbit Hole
The Spencer Family Emblem Key. A key is used to open the door to the Courtyard Study of the Mansion.
Amazingly brought to life by @totenpf on Instagram.
