Except that it is. The tag is meant for people to find others like them, for support, for answering questions. If you see no problem with flooding the tags with hateful spam and death threats, then you're beyond my understanding. This doesn't just affect the "evil cithets" either, there are LGBT aces who use the tags for the purposes I mentioned. LGBT ppl: (some of whom are ace themselves) Cisgender heteroromantic asexuals and cisgender aromantic heterosexuals are straight IN ADDITION TO being asexual or aromantic and thus not queer/LGBT. They shouldn’t use the q slur nor should they take advantage of the resources our community provides.
Asexual/Aromantic people do in fact face stigma/prejudice that is unique to them but the LGBT community was built is a coalition of communities brought together by overlaping oppression that is completely separate from what asexuals/aromantic face and have faced historically. Instead of invading safe spaces that keep LGBT people alive, they should focus their efforts on making their own community and providing resources for themselves.

Etsy is charging shop owners for people viewing their content
Every time someone so much as looks at my posting, I lose 25 cents. They even charge for shipping, even though I don't print their labels or use any shipping-related services besides my local USPS.
It's impossible to sell things for a reasonable price, because shop owners have to make up the hundreds of tiny expenses Etsy piles on for no god damn reason. A year ago when I uploaded something I only got charged for the upload and if someone bought the thing. Today I have seven screenshots' worth of expenses for two postings after only one day of having them up. Etsy is robbing people. They even took money from an order!
I sell my masks for $5 a piece. I also offer free shipping on orders $35 and up. This is my first free-shipping-order, meaning the customer spent $35 on my masks, and yet Etsy is only giving me $33.61. Why? I'm already being charged outrageously for daring to use their site, and they think they deserve my money just because I offered free shipping? That's literally theft.
See anything else weird about that screenshot? Yeah. They charged me ten times for posting one post. That "auto-renewal charge" they label it as wasn't even supposed to be charged to me until September.
Etsy is a scam and everyone who touches it is a victim
This post is extremely misleading.
I just want to make sure everyone viewing this is aware that those $0.20 charges were not for people viewing the items...those are the item renewal fee, Which is the cost of Etsy hosting the item for sale. That happens every time you sell out an item that is *set* on auto renewal. When setting up the listing if you list say 10 units of one item, and not one at a time, you'll still be charged more for the higher listing but it won't renew with every sale.
I'm not sure why OP is pretending they don't understand why their $35 transaction came down to $33 and change when, if they've ever sold on Etsy before, and it seems like they have, they should understand that each item will have that $0.25 transaction charge you see--Which is the cost of the sales transaction on the marketplace.
This is all really clearly spelled out in the seller's handbook. I'm not going to pretend that Etsy doesn't take it's share of fees but this post is absurdly misleading. every shop owner has the option of turning off auto renewal just like they can turn off ads. Every shop owner is provided a clear outline of what fees will be charged.
Boycotting Etsy is boycotting the independent merchants who rely on it to sell their product. I'm not sure how many of you guys out there are small creator merchants, but let me tell you: brick and mortar establishments that cater to housing multiple creators under their roof charge the same bullshit transactions in addition to exorbitant rent. If you're a creator merchant who has found a site to sell your wares that doesn't charge as much as Etsy and gets you the same amount of views, good for you...but a lot of creators rely on Etsy to pay their bills.
Shame on you for duping gullible readers, OP.
