Crows normally walk. This one seems to have both legs working, so he’s not hopping out of necessity, he’s doing it for fun. Corvids can sometimes be seen doing things like this for no evident reason other than enjoyment.

Lest I keep being accused of a “Russia shill” / “Putin stooge” for the record I think Russia’s invasion of Ukraine (beyond peacekeeping duties in Donbas) is actually bad and indefensible. Not only that but it’s stupid and self-defeating, since it ensures there will be several generations of Ukrainians who will fucking hate Russia, massively bolsters the popularity of the prospect of joining NATO not just in Ukraine but in other neutral countries like Finland and Sweden, and will create the most domestic turmoil Russia has seen since the 90s. This isn’t some 5D chess move by Putin or a carefully executed use of force to try and slow NATO expansion, it honestly seems extremely desperate and dumb.
But the thing is as a USAmerican dude from USAmerica with zero ties to either Russia or Ukraine, the only responsible thing I can do is advocate against my own government escalating the conflict and hold them accountable for their role in making it happen. Saying you “Stand With Ukraine” as a USAmerican means jack fucking shit beyond consent manufacturing for more war and more destruction. Being anti-war means recognizing the limits of what change you can actually effect in a positive way and not being a useful idiot for imperialism and war. That’s why my focus has been and will continue to be advocating against US/NATO imperialism and not saying “Russia Bad”.
Kinda not my business since I'm not from America but it's on my dash so I will comment anyway.
I highly doubt that Ukrainians browse tumblr (they have better things to do) but I think saying "I stand with Ukraine" is not insifnificant! Ukraine received some (limited) military help but everybody, even civilians, is fighting hard with whatever they have so it's good they can see the world is supporting them. If I were them I sure would like that.
I also like the idea that you don't have to be a citizen of a big country to feel secure, free and reasonably unrestrained in your choices. For Eastern Europeans this is a fairly new thing.
For me saying "I stand with Ukraine" is an anti-war position. Letting Ukraine bleed without a word is not anti-imperialist and I think we can say Russia is the bad one here even though its people might not be.
