Today is the day that I worried about yesterday; all is well!

Fathers's day! I am one of those daughters whose dad would do anything for her if she got kidnapped like in taken. My dad is no secret service agent or anything but I know he would do his best to hunt the guy down if I was kidnapped. Dad's are there for their little girls their whole life. They show them what to love means how we should find the perfect guy in our lives. He teaches you everything you know. He disciplines you because he loves you. And he would do anything for you if he could. Fathers definitely should be celebrated! Even if we show that we don't like our dads I know I wouldn't know what I would do without my dad.

THE LAKE! So, the lake is like my favorite place ever! I love it because you can have so many adventures in one day! It’s amazing! From tubing for hours, learning to ski, and to just hanging out with fantastic friends you always have a good time at the lake. The last two weekends I have had the privilege of going to smith lake and Martin! Both weekends were filled with laughter and fun that I will always remember these times with my friends. Right now though I am so sore that I can barely move haha. If you ever go to the lake I would say go to either of those lakes! But no matter what lake your on you can always have fun and that is why lake days are the best days.

This weekend was so much fun! I went to the lake with my dgroup and it was amazing! It was out at smith lake at my dgroup leaders house. It was just a weekend full of laughs and smiles! I'm so glad to have a an extraordinary group to be friends with!

The last couple of days have been very adventurous! On Sunday I went to the lake with some friends and it was so much fun! I learned how to ski, which was a lot harder then I thought it would be! Tubing and jumping off rocks is always fun! Monday and Tuesday were pretty relaxed just at home and basketball practice! Wednesday, started working for Briarwood! I did super summer there, which is connected with special connections. This is where kids with special needs come and go to camp and yesterday we took them to the lake! The little boy I was assigned too kept asking me the same question over and over again “where was nemo?” And “could we go to his house?” I did my best to try to find Nemo’s house!

Not moving after 5 years? What?

So, for the people who read this and know me they know I have moved a lot growing up. As of today 5 years ago, the Hinton's embarked on a new adventure in Birmingham, Alabama. Before this we lived in Oxford, Mississippi. Before Oxford, we lived in Jackson, Tennessee. I was 12 years old when I moved to Birmingham with my family and about to turn 13. Oxford was my favorite place in the world. I loved the small town, the people there, my friends, my school, my house, and the college Ole Miss! But I have come to love Birmingham also! I love the city and downtown and all the things all my friends and I can do. It has a lot to offer. Most importantly, my friends are the best people in the world and I love them. Birmingham is my home and I am so glad my Dad has decided to stick around a lot longer (hopefully). I'm hoping they decide to retire here and never leave. As I go into my last year as a highschool student at Westminster, I couldn't be happier it's happening in the place I love the most. And that I will successfully have gone to a school for 6 years. I will graduate with the class of 2016, who also are my family. And I am so glad my parents made the decision to move 5 years ago because I don't know where I would be if they hadn't.

This week one of my adventures was VBS! I was in the nursery with 1 and 2 year olds! Let me just say these kids are adorable and so cute! The one in my lap is Ava Joy and the one beside me on the right is Anna Grace and the girl beside me is Bailee and the girl in her lap is Hope. They are so small and cute! Bailee, is a new good friend of mine who is going into 7th grade at Westminster! Through all the crying for their mommy’s and Daiper changes; this week will be remembered because I got to play with these kids everyday and teach them about Jesus!

friendship is amazing! I love my friends and wouldn't ask for any better ones. As soon as I got back in town yesterday, one was like hey let's go get Sno Biz. And then another was like hey let's all go hangout and go swimming and get food (our favorite thing to do). I love my friends and do not know what I would do without them. They are there for me all the time and we can have so much fun together wherever we go. Not all of them are pictured in that picture up there. That was just a picture from last night. But I have some pretty great friends and do not know how we will say bye to each other in a year. Friendship is a adventure that I love and I hope this adventure with all my friends never ends. I love yall!!

Life is like a mountain

Life is like a mountain. Our lives go up and down and up and down again. We climb up and eventually we will reach the top. When we get to the top you feel so good! You think to yourself "YES, I've made it. Everything in my life is going exactly the way it should be." It took you a long time to get there it was a hard up hill to get to the top. You climbed and climbed and sometimes thought you would quit. You sometimes stopped because you were tired. Your legs are about to go out. You just don't think you can do it anymore and then you reach the top. You stay at the top for a while feeling great about yourself. Then it starts to go down. Downhill is easy right? Everything eventually starts to go downhill it's easy at first until it's so easy you are not even thinking where you are stepping or thinking about how far you have gone. But unfortunately the downhill and top ends and you start the uphill again where you are struggling for strength to keep going on. For every mountain there is an up and a down. Struggles and insecurities relate a lot to this. You have a long struggle until you reach the top and start the down, but then something new starts when you get to the up hill again.

Well we couldn't leave DC without touring the Capitol building or the Library Of Congess! Both buildings are very beautiful! They were both amazing to see. We then saw the National Cathedral which was great to see in person. And that leads to the end of our vacation/adventure in Virginia and DC. Tennessee bound now as we will spend the night there with my mom's family and then tomorrow Birmingham bound!

2nd post about the Hinton's adventures in DC! After the war memorials we made our way to the Martin Luther King JR. Memorial. I love all the quotes they have everywhere you go! This is the 2nd picture. At this memorial across the water, you can see the Thomas Jefferson Memorial. That's the 1st picture. We then saw the WWII Memorial! That is the panoramic picture! And the picture of the Pearl Harbor quote! After this, we went to the Washington Monument and got a closer look! It is really tall! We then continued our adventure into the Smithsonian of American History! I liked this a lot more then I thought I would! It was very interesting and the facts and history that they have in there is amazing! My favorite thing to see in there was probably the original flag that went over Baltimore! Or the First Ladies inaugural dresses! We then continued our journey to the Capitol! This whole day has been surreal because it's just amazing to think that this is where our whole government is run. Well that basically concludes Day 7!

The Hinton's continued our adventures into Washington DC today! First, we went through china town and in the first picture is the friendship bridge for the Chinese. We continued walking and and the second picture is a road called Penn Quarter. This road lead us to Ford's theater, which is where President Lincoln was assassinated. We just went past this to see what the theater looked like. It was smaller then I thought it would be. Then my mom reminded me that that when Lincoln was killed was when buildings were smaller and they had carriages. We eventually rounded the corner on our way to see the White House and right beside the White House was a building called Eisenhower Executive Offices. This is the fourth picture. I thought this building was really cool looking!! We then saw the White House, which was very exciting to see, and saw all the security around it and the protestors. We then went and saw the Lincoln Memorial! And almost everywhere you went the Washington Monument was always in sight! Also, the reflection pool was very creative. We then went and started seeing the memorials. These were amazing to see and it just reminds you about how much the people in our country have sacrificed in the wars. My favorite was the Korean War memorial! The Vietnam Memorial was also very cool. Continues on next post

We made it to DC!! We already went to Arlington Cemetery and saw the changing of the guard at the Tomb of the Unknown soldier! We also saw the Iwo Jima Memorial! That was a really cool memorial! We finally ended up at our hotel and after showering and actually getting clean from our backpacking trip; we went to dinner and got Sushi! day 7 comes soon for we start out tour all over DC!

We are done!!! 33 miles, 3 nights on the ground, 4 days climbing mountains and down mountains! WE ARE DONE! It was an experience I will never forget with my family! The people we met were really interesting and some of them are so crazy they are doing the whole thing. On to Washington, DC we go!

Yesterday we finished our 6 miles and made camp at pass mountain hut! We got there around 3:00 and set up camp! Sara, mom and I slept in a tent while Davis and Dad slept in Eno's. It was mostly downhill from Mary's rock until the last mile! I was feeling really confident and then I tripped and fell! That was an adventure! Today, we start our 10 mile adventure to our campsite! So far it's been uphill and flat and a little downhill! But it's beautiful weather and I'm trying not to complain too much going uphill! But as soon as we get to the top it's worth it because of the awesome view! We met some hikers and one guy had hikes all the way from Miami Florida to where we were and was going all the way to Canada! Crazy! Well my dad is getting on to me for being on my phone! So got to go and keep hiking!

Avatar

Day 3 Well we have come to a stopping point for lunch on top of Mary's Rock! It's the second view above! It is absolutely beautiful!! Amazing! Well we have done 3.5 miles so far and the whole first 1.5 miles was all UP hill. Advice to everyone hiking for a long distance! Make sure you are in shape! Because by the end of that hill I was worn out and already sweaty! But I will say that by my view right now it was worth it! Also, we had a sworm of nats following us the whole way. I'm at the end of the 5 of us and just trudging along hoping to make it! The first half of the day is gone! Let's see if I can make it 3 more miles til we reach the end of our hike for today!! #alreadyreadyforashower #29milestogo #juststarted

Today the Hinton's start our first day of backpacking on the Appalachian trail!! We will hike 6 miles with these packs on our backs to a camp ground! The Appalachian trail goes all the way from Georgia to Maine!! Hopefully we will se some through hikers! These hikers are people who hike the whole thing in 6 months! I could never to do that! And it's really interesting to hear their stories while on the trail! They are also really stinky so we try not to get to close! But by the end of this trip we will be too! I brought a lot of dry shampoo! Well wish us luck as we start this hike!
