having a lot of thoughts of the live a live variety today. i’ve never seen a beautiful soundtrack and delicious combat system be wasted on such a half baked game before. that’s more of a tragedy to me than the shakespearean real housewives nightmare oersted endured his first day as a married man

the more i look into this game the more i realize i was never the target audience cause what do u mean they(men) were calling alethea a she-devil for getting kidnapped and manipulated. u people can recognize that streibough inadvertently planted the seed of odio in oersted and uranus and the people of lucrece but u can’t extend that same courtesy to alethea who was just as obviously a victim as oersted? is it because squenix didn’t hold your hand and explicitly spell it out for u? and to dismiss streibough as a simple hater in the same breath go fuck yourself. bro admitted to using magic to bag alethea and ruin oersted’s life, for funsies, and y’all act like she killed the king and uranus herself. am i the only one seeing this. my hair is falling out in clumps

and no criticism for dumbass oersted either which is crazy. like i still do not understand why or how he found it in himself to trust streibough from the start. that man cursed oersted’s name in front of him and the whole town and no one batted an eye. thought i was going crazy but okay cool. then bro emerges from a bush outside the castle gate to lend his aid um? i thought u were famous why did u sneak up on oersted out here? and why did he accept your help despite y’all not being friends or even rivals? i’m not saying oersted had it coming in the strictest sense but i think if he was a little less stupid and healthily skeptical he could’ve saved himself a lot of unnecessary drama

technology connections has a few videos on this, gas stoves are incredibly inefficient and put out so much carbon monoxide. Cheap coil electric stoves suck but still work better than gas and induction stoves are the most efficient and also safe of all. literally thermodynamically electric is better idk how so many people are wrong about this.

The primary argument I'd levee against electric stoves, acknowledging that on an objective level they are the better technology in terms of efficiency and lack of gas that kills you emissions (I voted yes-electric and am only arguing from the position of a devil's advocate trying to prevent the canonization of the electric stove), is that they do not have any fucking haptic feedback. You turn them on and they get hot and that's it.

But, with a gas stove, it's different. You turn it on and the gas hisses, the stove clicks, there's an igition and sudden and immediate heat with a fwooosh, then the constant hiss as gas escapes the burner and combusts, and the smell of whatever sulfides they put in the gas burning is nice. You know when a gas stove is on, you can hear it and feel it in a way you can't with most electric stoves.

Electric stoves are better by the metrics, but for many humans (judging solely by this poll, most humans) they don't feel better to use. This is a recurring and well known problem when designing things for human use. Electric kettles don't whistle (bad); most vacuum cleaners are obnoxiously loud so the human using it 'knows its sucking,' electric cars are too quiet it unsettling for a lot of people; players in fighting games will use moves with worse frame data if the move has that 'punch factor.'

Gas stoves are worse, don't get me wrong. But sometimes, worse things feel better to use.

Gas stoves are also very quick to adjust the heat on compared to electric

Can we not group resistive electric and induction electric? Induction users seem to think it’s a very different experience. (I use resistive, it’s nothing to write home about but it’s not horrible either.)

Recent induction convert here. They are AMAZING. I had no idea how much I was suffering from gas stoves burning my arms and being impossible to clean until I experienced the alternative. Resistive electric is nothing.

A wok only works on a gas stove, dont care if it kills me one day, GAS SWEEEEP!

It’s really funny when people who enjoy content that’s easy consume think they’re somehow oppressed for this preference even tho the entire entertainment industry caters to it

You’re not oppressed for reading mediocre romance books that can be found on the “As seen on Booktok” table ar Barnes and Nobles or enjoying MCU movies. You’re actually the core audience that keeps these million dollar monopolies afloat.

I wanna live in the world where these people are actually oppressed lmao. Imagine going to the movie theater and there’s like a tons of thoughtful mid-budget movies made and all the romance novels at the bookstore contain intricate narratives and complex characters. Come on now

Some guy says he likes MCU movies and he instantly gets beaten to death by a gang of pretentious snobs that roam the streets like wild animals

Your vision for the world is beautiful

i think if you have never been in a situation where you have wanted to very seriously hurt someone in retaliation for a grave offense or attack u really don't have much to say abt the nature of violence or how it affects the human spirit. regardless of whether you endorse retaliatory violence or succumb to the brittle anxiety of rage or believe in the inner strength to hold your head high and act peacefully in spite of it all. hurting another living thing comes as naturally to people as loving does, as both are asked of us in the natural world. how you handle that call does speak to your character and moral standing, but if you have never been beaten into the ground or dehumanized past the point of disrespect.... you don't get it and I don't trust you to be empathetic without that kind of understanding
