Fun fact: common buckeye butterflies (Junonia coenia) can be selectively bred to be blue fairly easily!

It turns out the only thing needed to go from brown to blue is a slightly thicker lamina, which is a flat layer at the bottom of the wing scale:

The lamina's iridescence is caused by the same phenomena as soap bubbles: thin-film interference. When light hits the transparent film of the lamina, it reflects off both the top and bottom of the layer.

Depending on the thickness and refractive properties of the material, the two reflected light waves can be in sync (image below) or cancel each other out. At the perfect thickness, the blue waves of light are enhanced and the butterfly becomes iridescent!

Because the difference in thickness needed to cause iridescence is so slight, it took less than a year to shift a population from just a few blue scales to full-on fabulous blue.

Spellcasters hate this fact but if you just stick your fingers in their mouth while they're casting a spell with a verbal component it's literally more effective than a counter spell.

This also works with pinning their hands against the wall when they're trying to use somnatic components.

Basically if you make out sloppy style while pressed against a wall the spellcasters can't do anything

one thing i really like abt yonny is how the game sets you up for him

like. you meet russ and naturally you're like "ah it's the mad scientist of the group!" bc like yknow he's got a weird laugh and he's a scientist, matches up

but then you meet yonny, and you see him just casually hanging out outside at night before he gets rescued even though in all previous games that's been a "If You Do This You Will Die" thing, calling you "new blood", experimenting on his coworkers, and you realize that YONNY is the mad scientist and russ is just a slightly eccentric guy with a weird laugh

When the great octoweapons fell, The greatest engineer in the octarian army, known simply as the Octotinker, put them back together. Instead of trying what had already failed, Octotinker decided to go for an even bolder approach. A huge fusion of all previous octoweapons designed to utterly destroy Inkopolis, and take back the great zapfish through force, not stealth. Can Agent 3 stop it before it's too late?
