‘You eat what you like, I eat what I like. Simple.’

That’s nice but consider this: what you eat affects others and has consequences.

Okay I’m about to spill some tea

SO “oh look, taylor swift is dragging up past drama to sell her new album, look at her playing the victim again, you’re still over”

is what all the haters happen to be screaming (among over ridiculous things) tonight, following the release of Look What You Made Me Do, the lead single to Swift’s 6th album: Reputation. But let’s take a little trip down memory lane to see if Taylor really is playing the victim. Hold on ladies, it’s gonna be a long one.

2006-2008

Taylor broke out in 2006, and when Love Story stormed the charts in late 2008 she became a global superstar and thus named “America’s Sweetheart” a bittersweet and dangerous title for any young female star, because it’s so easy to fall from the top. She was immediately held to an impossibly high standard of perfection, in every aspect of her life, and she handled this with grace.

“You’re vegan?! You don’t know what you’re missing out on”

1. High cholesterol

2. Lack of energy

3. Higher risk of cancer

4. Higher risk of dementia

5. An uncontrollable impulse to shout “Baaaaccccooooon

6. Not knowing where protein comes from

7. Dairy induced acne

8. Insincerely saying “I love animals”

9. Not giving a damn about the environment

10. A less happy sense of well-being from not doing the right thing

Yeah… Vegans know what they’re “missing out on”

For the "veganism is too expensive" carnists.

So many carnists don’t understand that many vegans live vegan lives either at or below the poverty line. Take myself, for example. I’ve lived below the poverty line my entire life and I’ve been vegan since I was 14, I’m currently 23. My mother barely, if ever, makes (or made) more than $10,000 a year and has been my sole provider since birth. As an adult who is also a student I make considerably less than her a year and still manage to not make excuses as to why I can’t be vegan or why I can’t continue being vegan.

I’m not coming for anybody but seriously. I’ve been vegan for a long time and it has never caused any financial issue that eating a carnists diet wouldn’t. I’ve never run out of money because “oh no vegan food is just too expensive!” You buy what you can buy with the money you have. That’s just life in general. Fortunately, I’ve never had to go hungry but let’s stop pretending like half the supermarket isn’t vegan. All the cheap canned fruits, vegetables, beans, the giant bags of different rices, pastas and various types of noodles, frozen veggies, dry beans, cereals and on and on. They even have cheap soy/almond milks that you can get for a dollar that have that precious B12 vitamin carnists are so damn concerned about. Did I not tap just about every major nutrient? Not to mention all the cheap snack foods you can find in any supermarket anywhere that are also vegan. It starts with educating yourself and giving a damn, not saying “oh no veganism is too expensive” when most of those that say stuff like that have never had to live anywhere near the poverty line.

Future Vegan Mom Goals

I watched a bunch of Mango Island Mamma’s (Ellen Fisher) youtube videos last night & now I’m dreaming of moving to Hawaii, marrying a great vegan guy, and having raw vegan babies. Her little family is so cute and inspiring!

are vegans really still a thing

Are people really still eating sentient beings?

Are people still totally incapable of compassion?

our home will have cute plants, fairy lights, lots of flowers, beautiful art, flowy curtains, big book shelves, and most importantly out home will be filled with love.

okay but waking up in the middle of the night to soft rain and knowing you’ve still got hours to sleep, when you’re toasty warm and comfortable & sleep has made you forget all your worries and responsibilities and u go back to sleep feeling as content as ever

Being vegan makes me happy and feel good about my every day choices. I’m making conscious decisions about the items I purchase and the companies I buy from because I want my own morals to correlate with my actions. I do research and keep informed to try and make good choices for the environment, my health, other beings, and my soul. This is why I’m vegan. It just feels right.
